I remember tears streaming down your face

When I said, I'll never let you go

When all those shadows almost killed your light

I remember you said,

Don't leave me here alone

But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight...

"Do you want to die?" LightPaw asked suddenly to her best friend that was a tom. "Well, no. Not exactly. I- I just don't want to be left alone to die, like no one cares. Like….like my mother….."

"Don't worry ShadePaw. I'll never let you go ever!" LightPaw said. At that thought ShadePaw brightened up. "Thanks." He whispered close to her ear and muzzled her affectionlly. "Lets get back, before we're missed."

~Next Day~

"Hey ShadePaw!" LightPaw said brightly. ShadePaw gave her a hostile look. "Last night never happened." LightPaw padded backwards. "Okay! I get it!" LightPaw spat at him. HazelPaw padded over and spat at her. "Learn your manners!" She steered ShadePaw away, tails twining together, pelts brushing. LightPaw looked over sadly. "I'm sorry I couldn't stay for you….." she whispered, her voice carried by the wind. ShadePaw stopped abruptly, hearing LightPaw's words. HazelPaw padded over and licked his ear. "What's wrong?" "Nothing. Let's hunt."

~Battle~

"Retreat! FireClan!" LightPaw's leader yowled. As they retreated, only one white calico could not. She was dying. She was LightPaw. As all the warriors left, one single black tom slipped away and hurried to her side. "I'm- so- sorry I couldn't be there for you forever…." LightPaw coughed out.
"Shh…its okay. Your going to be safe and sound." "Wh-Why were you like that yesterday?" LightPaw spluttered, blood coming out of her mouth. "B-Because I don't know what happened over me. What came over me." ShadePaw said dropping his gaze. "It's okay ShadePaw. You're here, and that's all that matters….I'll watch and never let you go….." LightPaw's voice started to fade away, and ShadePaw yowled in distress. "Nooooo!" he cried towards the sky. "Why?" he whispered as a dark cloud covered the sky. "Why was it her?"
