So this is my first ever Grojband story :D And this will be a bit different from other Grojband fanfics I read.

So here the thing: I actually wrote and post this story from last year ago and the end result was complicated. I wrote the fourth chapter in March when I realized that the story was not going as plan. So with the encouragement of on of my reviewers, I deleted the story and wanting to rewrite it. So please understand why I was doing this.

Please enjoy!

The Groj Effect

Chapter 1: Waking Up

Trina groaned as she's starting to gain consciousness. Her eyes fluttering open before feeling a dull throb in her head and her body aching just a bit. This isn't what she would call a pleasant wake-up call.

As her vision now became clear, she quickly realize that she's in her room on her bed. She doesn't even remember entering her room to take a nap or anything. The last thing she recall was having an argument with her annoying little brother, Corey, wanting her to drive him and his lame-o band to some random gigs they wanted to do. But can't seem to remember afterwards, why is that? This was starting to weirding her out as Trina quickly shot up in a sitting position, but she soon regretted it as her head begin to throb.

"Like, OUCH, my head!" she shouted, holding her head to stop the pain, but to no avail.

"Trina!"

Trina almost jumped from hearing her name, now feeling that another presence is in her room. The pink-haired teen turn to the side of her bed where the intruder is, only to be dumbfounded to see that it was just Mina sitting on a chair. It looked like she was reading book before she woken up.

"Trina, are you okay?" Mina said worriedly. "I tried to wake you up after you passed out."

While sighing in relief to see her teal-haired, spectacle friend (which she would never admitted to her), she still needs some answers from her. "Like, Mina, what happen to me, and why am I in my room?" she demanded, rubbing her head as it went back to a dull throb.

Mina blinked in confusion before looking around the room to see if anyone else is in the room. Finding no one here but them, she turn back to Trina to ask: "… are you talking to me?"

Trina groaned to this response. "Like, DUH, is there any other Mina in this room or what not?"

Mina blinked again. "But, my name isn't Mina." She stated, "In fact, you never call me that before. Also, why are you talking like that?"

"Well, what else could it be? And don't you dare judge how I talk." Trina said, starting to get irritated with this nonsense.

Mina seem to be as well as she reply, "Well, it's Bernadette." She said firmly, "Whether you like it or not, it will always be Bernadette no matter what."

Trina could not believe her ear. Mina would never go by that name ever since she change it for her. What made her wanting to change it back? What's more shocking is that she never talk to her like that, like ever. She wouldn't dare talk out of commission to her. Trina was going to write her "friend" off when the throbbing pain return in her head. She rub her head to ease it, getting more frustrating than ever. She has no time for this. So she'll let Mina's (or Bernadette's in this case) rude behavior slide… for now.

"Like, never mind about that," Trina said, brushing it off, "Can you least tell me why we're in my room?"

Mina/Bernadette blinked once more. "Don't you remember, Trina? We would do study sessions in your room after school."

Trina tried to process what Mina (or Bernadette) was talking about. Study session? Where did that even come from? This has to be Mina's attempts to mess with her because clearly it isn't working. "Like, what are talking about 'study sessions', Mina?" the pink-haired girl said frustratingly, "I mean, I don't even remember walking in here."

Mina/Bernadette frowned. "Firstly, it Bernadette and it always will be," she states, making Trina mumbled a bit but let's her continue. "Secondly, of course we would be having a study session, we do this every day. And thirdly, where else could we be other than your room?"

"Well, last time I checked, we were tote in the garage."

"…Sorry, can't seem to recall doing that." Her friend responded. Trina groaned, wanting to bury herself into her pillow. This is getting more frustrating by the minute. Just what the heck is going on?

"Trina, do you remember anything before you… blacked out?" Mina/Bernadette ask reluctantly, breaking her friend's train of thought.

"Like, all I can remember is my brother's lame-o band wanting me drive them to some stupid gig." She said. "But I totes can't remember after that."

Trina looked back at Mi- Bernadette to see a complex look on her face. She didn't want to ask, but she has to. "Like, what?"

"Well, it's just… I don't even know what you talking about." Mi- Bernadette said, not sure where she's getting at.

"You know what I'm talking about. My brother, Corey, and his grody rock band, 'Grojband'." Trina explained air-quoting the band's name. "Like, come on, you should totes already know this by now."

"…. Trina, I never even heard of a band like that." The teal-haired girl said, arching an eyebrow at her. "And what are you talking about having a brother?"

"Like, UGH, do I have to spell everything out for you!?" Trina growled, "What part of me having a brother' don't you understand?!"

Bernadette became silent for a moment before giving her an honest answer. "Uh, Trina…"

"… You don't have a brother."

So what do think? Looks like Trina is having the shock of her life.

Sorry that it's short.
