Sakura paced around her kitchen, sweat beading on her pink brow. Her beautiful daughter sat at the table, tapping her foot impatiently. Sakura could see the temper rising in Salada- she was her daughter, truly- rising.

"Mum, can't you just blurt it out already? I've been sitting here for fifteen minutes."

Sakura heaved out a deep sigh and sat herself across Salada at the table. "Sweetie, your father and I are getting a divorce."

"What?!' Salada inhaled in shock. "Why?!"

"Because..." Sakura wrung her hands. "He is having an affair. With the Hokage, no less. I'm having an affair too. With, er, the Hokage's wife. Basically what I'm trying to say is we're both gay."

"W-what?!" Salada was trying to wrap her head around what her mother said. She suddenly made sense of it all, all the signs had been there over the years, but she'd refused to believe it.

"I'm very sorry, Salada." Sakura reached out to push up her daughter's glasses for her, which had been left free to slip down her nose in her confusion. "Your Uncle Naruto and Aunt Hinata are getting divorced too. They're telling Himawari and Bolt now. We're finally marrying the ones we truly love."

"I... I..."

"I know this is hard on you, sweetie, but it's hard on us, too." Sakura bit her lip, which began to shake. And it had been hard, watching her love for Sasuke fade and then shift to Hinata, who belonged already to Naruto. It had been harder still to watch Sasuke, her best friend, slowly drive himself into a frenzy out of sorrow and jealousy with each passing day that he could not hold and love Naruto.

She remembered pushing herself to appear alright whenever she met Hinata on the street, thinking of what could have been. Sakura hadn't know that Hinata had felt the same, not until that fateful day when they had lost their control and had sex right in her's and Naruto's bedroom.

It had been a few weeks before she could will up the courage to admit her infidelity to Sasuke. Sasuke's reaction had been to admit that he had been cheating on her too, and with Naruto, no less. Hinata had known of the affair, and had been fine with it, but said nothing as she thought it would hurt Sakura.

But it hadn't. To be truthful, Sasuke cheating on her had bee the best thing that had ever happened to her.

"I love you, Salada." Sakura said, wiping a tear from her eye. "Sasuke loves you, more than you think he does, we just... love other people. Can you accept this?"

"Yeah." Salada said, nodding. It seemed that she realized what her parents had been going through all these years. "Yeah, I can."

"Thank you."

She drew her daughter into a hug, and Sakura mused that from now on, their lives would finally be better, and they would be by the sides of the ones they truly loved.
