Suzie Costello has a heart of glass behind a shield of iron. Beautiful and sweetly lovely, it shows everything shone exactly how it is, with only slight deviations. Suzie has one. Delicate, with a need of protection, it can do only a few things, but those unmarred. But smudges and fingerprints are hard to get off without a special cleaner unknown for hearts. So many shield behind a protection of iron, so no one but those whose eyes can pierce the iron know. Suzie has done that.

Time holds important to those with glass hearts. Many of them end up being geniuses of a particular field. Suzie Costello is no different. She excels in study of the Resurrection Glove. But for some of them, their studies are the ones that sucked them under, where smudges mark and blemish their glass hearts forever, for they cannot find their cleanser. Because no one really can find the cleanser for these hearts. Right in front of their eyes, but they can't find it, so engrossed in their studies. So far in that they cannot look, even. The final self-fulfilling prophecies are always written of the beautiful glass hearts in the human race.

The iron shield is broken when Suzie Costello draws away. The glass heart is shown in full as the final minutes count down.

Everything is broken, not just her shield of iron. The glass heart has shattered as events conspire. The fragments hang above the hard ground for the final seconds of life. The gun is raised, and Suzie Costello stares at a heart of silver and a heart of warmth before the trigger is pressed.

The shot echoes, and the fragments lie shattered across the ground, lonely and gleaming shards that once made a beautiful glass heart, now lie apart, finally cleansed in another way. The body of Suzie Costello collapses in the ruins of her glass heart.
