Buffy and Willow sit out on back porch away from the insanity of the house. Privacy doesn't seem to be an option since all the potentials arrived. The two women are enjoying much needed best friend conversation.

"How's Spike doing since, you know, everything that's been happening to him?" Willow asked knowing that Buffy has been worried about everything he's been through recently.

"He's alright I suppose. I hate seeing him go through all that. The First pulling his strings and torturing him is really pissing me off. Which I suppose is a good thing since I will have to fight it soon." Buffy replied.

Willow looked at Buffy with a sad smile, "You've really been worried about him. I can't tell. It's understandable."

"What's understandable?" Buffy asked confused.

"That you'd be worried. I would be worried too if something like that happened to someone I love." Willow explained.

"I don't love him. I just—"

Willow interrupted," Buffy, before you get into a long untrue rant about your feelings for Spike let me just cut to the chase here. You do love him. I can see it in you. Buffy, I've been you're best friend for seven years. I know you. Yeah, at first it might have been that he had a chip and he was harmless and you felt bad for him. Then it might have been that he was bored and wanted to kill something so helped you fight demons. Less demons for you to fight. Then it was that he helped fight against Glory and helped take care of Dawn and fought at your side because he loved. When you came back he was the only one you could talk to for some reason. But Buffy, at some point all of that just gets striped away and all there is left is that you love him."

Buffy sighs looking at her best friend defeated,"How did this happen? How could I have fallen in love with Spike?"

Willow chuckled," I don't know, but admitting it is the first step to recovery."

Buffy laughed and leaned into Willow for a hug. How nice to have someone else explain your feeling to you.
