'Ginny, get out of the way!' Harry screamed. He saw Voldemort point his wand from Harry towards Ginny.
'Avada Kedavra!' Voldemort shouted in fury, as Ginny dodged the spell from inches.
'Expelliarmus!' I shouted hoping upon hope itself that Voldemort would shift his gaze from Ginny.
'Avada Kedavra,' Voldemort shouted again, and just when Harry's spell was about to hit Voldemort…. he apparated…and so did the Death Eaters.
'Is he really…. gone?' Neville asked, in a shaky voice from behind Ron, Hermione and Loona. But where was Ginny!?
'Ginny….where is Ginny!' I shouted.
'Ginny…. NO!' I shifted my gaze at Ron who was running towards a motionless body. I ran after him and so did the others.
'Ginny...Ginny…can you hear me,' Ron said as he bent over her, he was crying, wiping off every tear from his bruised and swollen face.
'Ginny…Ginny,' I moaned, sensing warm tears come to my eyes. Ginny's face was white and her hands were cold. Now my face was burning as the warm tears ran down the bleeding cuts and brused patches on my skin.
'Is she...going to be okay, Hermione?' asked Ron turning towards her.
'I…I…don't think so Ron,' said Hermione as she felt Ginny's cold hand, she, too, was weeping.
Loona was crying silently with her right hand pressed on her mouth, to stop her from crying out loud and Neville was pale and his eyes were watery but I could tell he was holding back tears.
I almost expected Ginny to wake up and tell us that she was okay and if not for the cold skin and colourless skin, I would have thought that she was alive. I sat beside her cursing Voldemort with all the curses I had learned from Uncle Vernon.
I sat there with nothing I could do, nothing that could be said could comfort anyone, least of all myself. I was speechless and felt that half of me was missing. I could not stand the fact that Ginny had died and I could do nothing, nothing in the world to change it. It was just an unexpected death…and this uncomforting thought caused me an unexplainable pain that centered around my heart and soul.
