A/N: This takes place after the events of 3x20. But it's still the same night.
Klaus was pacing his bedroom. He was too agitated to go to sleep after yelling at his mother's dead body. Rebekah still hadn't awakened yet, so he was left with his thoughts for company. He just couldn't believe how everyone (including his mother, Stefan, and Caroline) wanted him dead. Well, tomorrow morning he'd give them the next best thing and leave town. They wouldn't have to worry about seeing his face anymore.
That thought made him kind of sad. He was really going to miss bumping heads with Stefan. He liked to think they had a brotherly love/hate relationship. As for Caroline, he really wished she would just give him a chance. He knew he could show her the finest life the world had to offer. The finest life he had to offer.
Before he knew what he was doing, he was running to Caroline's house. He just had to see her lovely face one more time before he left. Caroline was already asleep when he arrived. She looked so peaceful while she dreamt. Klaus couldn't help but wonder what she was dreaming of. Since he was already in a reckless mood, he decided he would dive into her dream mind.
Klaus was looking at The Eiffel Tower with about a thousand other people. Caroline was apparently dreaming about Paris, France. He tried to find her amongst the crowd. He finally saw her standing across the courtyard. She was taking pictures and smiling. Klaus decided he was going to take advantage of this dream location, and influence Caroline to go to the Louvre where she would serendipitously bump into him.
Klaus was admiring The Mona Lisa when Caroline bumped into him.
"Klaus, it that you?" she asked.
"Caroline, fancy meeting you here," he said.
"No kidding. Who would have thought I'd bump into you in Paris, France while I was backpacking through Europe?" she said.
He replied, "I guess it was just meant to be. Have you been enjoying your stay here?"
Caroline answered, "Oh yes! France is so beautiful- the countryside, the buildings, and the art. Speaking of art, would you want to join me in walking around the museum? I'm sure you know every piece by heart."
"You want me to be your tour guide?" he asked.
"Of course. You can show me all the best pieces, and tell me their history," she answered.
"It would be my pleasure," he said.
So, Klaus showed Caroline his favorite paintings and sculptures. Caroline listened intently as he explained how the artist created their pieces. Both of them were having a great time talking to each other.
Klaus thought that he better leave the dream there on a high note. He was trying to excuse himself from the museum, but Caroline didn't want him to leave yet. She asked him to have dinner with her. Well, he couldn't resist that invitation to make their dream date longer. So, he agreed to have dinner with her at his favorite Parisian restaurant.
Meanwhile, back in Caroline's bedroom, Klaus noticed Caroline was smiling in her sleep. It looked like she had been protesting a little too much at his offer to get away at the dance tonight. Maybe there was still hope for them after all.
The End
