I groaned as I hit the "send" button on my phone. When will that thing ever come up with an original idea?! Running down the stairs I was just about to step outside when I was stopped short by my dad.

"Yumi Ishiyama, you are NOT stepping foot outside of this house!" He said, stepping in front of me. I took a deep breath, trying to keep from blowing up at him.

"I'm sorry Yumi, but there are things out there. We can't let you go." My mother said, stepping up next to my father. I took a step back and smiled at them both reassuringly. Looking into the living room I saw my little brother Hiroki looking out the window with a scared look.

"But if we don't go, I'll be late getting back from lunch!" I stammered.

"I'm sorry, but we still can't let you."

"Um... oca-sama, there's a monster outside the door!" Hiroki shouted.

"And that is the exact reason we can't let you out Yumi." My father said, crossing his arms. "I'm sorry about you having to miss your classes, but your health is more important to me."

A fleeting look of gratitude crossed my face before I countered, "I understand that, but I have so much more experance than you could guess. I have been fighting these monsters for almost three years now." I knew that under normal cercomstances the gang would absolutely kill me for having revealed our secret to my parents, but I knew that once everything was taken care I would be right back here walking out the door. "This is the reason that I'm continually coming home late, or disappearing in the middle of the night. It's not love," I added, casting a glance at Hiroki. "It's my friends and I trying to save the world! Listen, I don't have time right now to explain it all, but I promise as soon as I get the chance and you will all remember it I will tell you everything."

My parents traded one of those looks that said This explains a lot of things but still sounds too crazy to believe. My dad stepped up to me and put her hand on my shoulder. "Well... I... I'm afraid I still can't let you go. We... oh my goodness what is that thing?!" My mother screamed, pointing at the small machine that had just blasted our door in.

Lovely. I have my own personal honor guard. I thought, looking around for something I could use. Grabbing my mom's good metal nail file off the table I stooped down and stabbed it into X.A.N.A.'s symbol on the kankrelat. As it exploded, I looked up at my parents and said, "See? Now will you let me go?" Before they had time to answer, I stepped over the pieces of our door and out onto the street, heading for the factory.

"Who was that?" Aelita leaned over to asked as I looked down at my phone.

Handing it to her, I said quietly to Odd and Ulrich behind me, "Yumi just send me a text. X.A.N.A. is at it again, and he's sent us some companions."

"To earth? AGAIN?!" Ulrich groaned in frustration.

"Man, I hate fighting them. They're so much easier to kill when I don't have to get to know them on such an itimate level." He said, patamiming his laser arrow attack with a wink.

"Ma'am, I'm not feeling so well. May I go to the infermary?" Aelita asked, slipping my moible back to me under the desk.

"May I take her to make sure she doesn't faint along the way?" I instantly added.

"Yes you may both go." Mrs. Hertz said, waving to the door. As we gathered our things she added "Stern, Della Robbia, just go. I don't want to hear whatever excuse you'd come up with. Just go." She pointed to the door, and we all left faces scarlet.

Alright, so this is the first chappie of a new story I'm planning on writing. I've got a bit of the plot figured out, and am just working out the kinks before I continue. It hopefully won't be too long of a story. Although, you will have to wait for quite a bit before I update it next... most likely anyways.
