All I Ever needed.

Robin stood on the sands of the Holy Land. He thought about her. The girl he loved. He had left her to come to this dreaded place. He thought he would find himself here. But he just seemed to lose himself more. He remembered her standing there tears running down her eyes as he broke her heart.

There you lay and here I stand
He knelt down on his knees and took her by the hand
We seen some good times been through some bad
But somewhere between the laughter and the tears
We sure had a lot of great years, she said

All he had left of her now was the memories. Memories of when they were children running around together. Ones of them being in trouble when they got caught doing one of their tricks. And sad ones. Ones when his father had died. Marian had held him and comforted him. She sat quietly as she heard him cry. Something he had never done in front of her before. Those were the good times.

We didn't need fortune didn't need fame
Just a little shelter from the rain
Your hand to hold onto, when times got tough you pulled me through
We didn't need a castle made of stone
Just you there as I grow old
Your heart to hold onto
All I ever needed was you
Was you.

At that age he didn't need anything apart from her. He loved her and that was all he needed. As long as she loved him and needed him that's all that mattered to him. But he had walked away from that. Left her. And he hated that memory.

Remember our first dance, our first kiss
I pictured my life with you to be just like this
You stood by me, I stand by you
We share the laughter joy and pain
But it's a moment like this I hope it never ends

He remembered going to the ball at the Castle. He remembered dancing with her across the room. How she seemed to glide like an angel. Her smile warmed his heart. It was that night that he took her out into the courtyard for some fresh air. Where they had talked laughed and flirted. It was that night he had leant forward and stole her first kiss. It had been that night that she did not pull away, but kissed him back.

We didn't need fortune didn't need fame
Just a little shelter from the rain
Your hand to hold onto, when times got tough you pulled me through
We didn't need a castle made of stone, just you there as i grow old
Your heart to hold onto,
All I ever needed was you
Share my life with you, girl

It was then that together they were everything. All the other one needed. Neither of them wanted for anything. As long as they had each other nothing else mattered.

I thank you for sharing your life with me
For giving me a reason to believe
For loving me for who i am

He thanked her everyday for allowing him to be in love. To know how it felt when your heart only beat for another. To know what it was like to need someone else.

We didn't need fortune didn't need fame
Just a little shelter from the rain
Your hand to hold onto, when times got tough you pulled me through
We didn't need a castle made of stone, just you there as I grow old
Your heart to hold onto,
All I ever needed
All I ever needed was you

He thought that he had to come here to prove himself in a way. To prove that he was a man worthy enough of her love. To show that he was something more than a Lords son. But when he broke her heart he left his with her. And now standing in the blood stained desert. He realised.

You're all I ever needed.
