Prologue
It was just like any ordinary day. I wake up, get dressed, and go outside. When I step outside I see trees. Endless trees that go on for miles. But I've never gotten sick of the trees, they've always calmed me, that's why I live in the forest.
I don't know many people in the underground, I don't need to. You never know when you're going to lose someone you care about, that's why I do everything I can to keep the ones I love safe.
As I walk down the path, I hear a familiar voice behind me, "Cambria." I turn around and am met with blank, white eyes.
"Hey there." My permanent grin grows a little bit wider when I see my bunny companion. She can tell I'm smiling, but her emotionless expression doesn't change. "You're late."
I start walking again, she walks by my side like she does every day. We exit the forest and we're instantly surrounded by the echo flowers. We're careful not to step on them as we walk past and make our way to the familiar path through waterfall. I like to spend most of my time in waterfall, it's peaceful and beautiful, you can sit and think for hours without any interruptions. So Carrie and I, the unbreakable duo, walk together, just like we do every day, and descend through waterfall. Little did we know, that was the last time we'd see waterfall for a long, long time.
