Shadows

McCoy loved to watch the kid. 'Kid' he thought 'I gotta stop calling him that.' He focused his eyes back to the slim figure at the navigation station. The doctor smiled. This had become a new hobby of his. When the medical bay wasn't busy, he would let Chapel handle things, slip away and come here. To the bridge, where he could stand in the shadows all day and watch his lover.

Warmth

If there was one thing the doctor loved more than waking up in a warm bed, it was waking up with his personal heater still next to him.

Kingdom

There were few times when McCoy didn't like being with his Russian. This was one time. Unable to find a reason to back to Georgia for his shore leave, he had been dragged to one of the coldest places he could imagine. Russia. On the way there, he grumbled and cursed at his lover. His lover only laughed at him. And McCoy was right. He hated it there. But the torture was worth it. If only he had had a camera when Pavel was welcomed home like he was the king of the kingdom.

Innocence

It wasn't until McCoy was woken in the middle of the night for some strange reason that the doctor realized Pavel's face retained almost all of his innocence. Almost like he was wearing his heart on his sleeve.

Nurturing

It was one of those extremely rare moments when they had a child on board. The ground crew had rescued her from a planet where a transport ship had crashed. She was the only one to survive. McCoy had been given the task of checking her over and watching her through the night. He was only gone for a moment, but when he came back his lover was asleep on their bed, with the small girl curled up and tucked into his side. McCoy hadn't known his lover could be so fatherly.

Crest

It was one of the nights when the lovers had stayed in the younger's room. The doctor usually liked to be close to the medical bay, but he had the night off and if it was a life or death situation, they knew to look here. He had been staring into the open closet for some reason and had found one particular blue shirt pleasant to look at. Then he noticed the small golden lion embroidered into the space where a breast pocket would go. When he asked his lover about it the younger merely stated that it was his family crest and that it was on all his civilian clothes.

Reflection

Pavel didn't like his reflection. It was odd, he knew, but he just couldn't stand to look at himself in the mirror for more than a few seconds. McCoy said it was because he didn't know how beautiful he was. Pavel disagreed.

Creation

It wasn't something he told every one. Actually only three people knew. When Pavel finally told his lover that he was genetically engineered, the doctor shrugged, told him that he already knew, and proved just how much he didn't care.

Mythical

McCoy knew that a body that beautiful just had to be mythical.

Ancient

Pavel's favorite thing to do was watch his lover sleep. He loved the way his face would relax, like the most ancient of burdens had been lifted from his shoulders.
