I don't own Bleach, but I do own the poem which is inserted in there. : D
a/n: I feel bad for writing this...(T∇T)
This world is screwed.
Things happen randomly, out of the blue, without question; without reason.
People do things randomly, out of the blue, with question, without reason; without thinking.
Things happen so suddenly, so randomly, out of the blue, without question; without reason.
It seems too ironic and beyond believability.
It was a quiet day out in Hueco Mundo. The war had been won, and victory claimed. Ulquiorra was out with Grimmjow, just silently enjoying the moment together. The night was black and filled with a heavy aura of sombreness. So much, it seemed to weigh down on them. The only thing that disturbed the intensity of this night was the bright stars in the sky which glittered brightly, giving life to the dead sky.
"Look Ulquiorra, the stars are out." Grimmjow looked up at the sky. He didn't need to look over to Ulquiorra to see if he was listening or not. He just knew.
"…"
"Aren't they beautiful? Let's lie down and watch them together." Even thought Ulquiorra had not given a reply nor consent, and though Grimmjow seemed to be talking to himself, Grimmjow still didn't look at Ulquiorra. Nothing needed to be done. To be said. The silence took the moment away from the night, and gave it essence. That was all it needed.
"…sure." Ulquiorra looked down, and before he knew it, his body moved out of his control, just lying down, holding Grimmjow's hand, and treasuring the moment, as it was meant to be; looking at the sky, so filled with life, and perhaps even truth.
Grimmjow smiled softly. He felt as if nothing could break the peace. Thoughts running all through his head, full of wonder, dissipating through this night, where not a worry was to be found. With only this one night on his mind, he was free of all bonds.
"The blood-red dyed sky finally disappeared,
And once again the solemn dark night reappeared.
It was such a magnificent sight!
I laid there, looking at it with all my might.
The stars went up,
I thought to myself, 'It would be more beautiful, had it not been so abrupt'."
Grimmjow began to close his eyes, letting the night take him away.
"I closed my eyes to the beauty of the sky and began to wonder,
How much does it take to open and close the gate to slumber?
While I laid there, I thought of when I would next awake…"
Grimmjow became silent. His breathing became silent. Tears rolled down the side his face, as if they became sparkling crystals on the way down.
"I never did; I guess it was something I couldn't make…"
Grimmjow's smile began to disappear. His body began to give in.
"…forgive me…Ulquiorra…" His hand became loose, and lost its grasp on Ulquiorra's hand.
"Grimmjow…?" Ulquiorra looked beside at where his partner laid. Grimmjow was vanishing, fading away, until nothing remained.
"Grimm…jow…?" He looked up at the sky, trying to catch the fragments that departed with Grimmjow, with no avail. Tears streamed down his face, and for once, the tear tracks seemed to come alive, as if revealing the true reason they had been marked there.
Ulquiorra wanted to die. The only thing he ever cared for had disappeared, so suddenly, randomly, out of the blue, without question; without reason.
"This…is one screwed up world…"
