Alistar Stackhouse had always been a weird one. The residents of Bon Temps sure did think so. Everything about him was weird, from his black hair that sometimes looked blue, sometimes when it caught the light just right you would swear that you were looking at the sky on a starry night. His eyes that weren't the blue of his grandmother or father, or the brown of his mother and brother, no they were purple. Ain't no one have purple eyes, at least that's what everyone thought till they met Alis.

That's another thing, Alis. It was a name the boy's in school called him when they was picking on him, but he took it and embraced it, enhanced it, made it his own. That was another thing that others thought weird, nothing ever bothered Alis. Oh, don't think they didn't try, cheese and rice did they try. But he'd smile at them so sweet and innocent, like an angel. Eventually they all stopped, from the gruffest jock, to the princess herself, Portia Bellefleur.

But weird things always happened around Alis. Sometimes he would answer questions no one asked. Other times he'd know that something was about to happen before it did. He was pale not deathly pale like them vampires, just pale. You'd think with all the sunbathing that the Stackhouse brothers did that Alis would look like his bronze brother Jason, but no matter how long he spend in the sun he would stay pale, but he wouldn't burn either.

He was quiet, but when he spoke you heard every word he said clearly. Even when he was angry he was quiet, it only happened a few times over the years but when it did you never wanted to see it again. One of those few times, was where he got his second nickname, Lucifer.

He was beautiful always was and got picked on a lot because of how androgynous he looked. His beauty and innocence had all the women of Bon Temps calling him an angel. But when he was angry his purple eyes looked like they were made of purple flames.

And that was how the Lucifer nickname came about, when he had descended on Lettie Mae Thornton, like the second coming. After she had one of her episodes and dropped off a teary eyed Tara Thornton and her sassy cousin Lafayette Reynolds at the Stackhouse property. No one knows what went down but after that both Tara and Lafayette were regulars at the Stackhouses. Lettie Mae described him in his rage as Lucifer reborn, and it had stuck.

So Alis was weird but in the four years he'd been gone away at Law School people seemed to forget that. They also seemed to forget about his nickname of Lucifer and that it was well deserved. They should have remembered, because now he was headed home. Headed home to deal with a brother arrested for crimes he didn't commit, and to bury his newly murdered grandmother. They should have remembered…

But he didn't have a problem reminding them.
