Nagi no Asukara drabble
The feeling of being torn apart was worse than she imagined.
Telling Hikari her feelings wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. The finally knowing she'll never be good enough for him was what tore her apart. The second time she felt this feeling was when Hikari went after Manaka and never came back.
For five years he was gone and she grew up, becoming a nurse and taking care of Tsumugu and his grandfather. By then the feeling wasn't so common anymore. Then Hikari woke up and feeling cane back full force just in a different way. This way was because she'll never be able to be the same age as them again, to grow up and go to school with them.
But finally she came to terms with it and moved on with Tsumugu after finally admitting her feeling towards the young man.
