AN: For those who wonders, Rutna is Crimson the Echidna's and Lien-Da's daughter. Her name is an female version of Light mobius Lien-Da's son Rutan.
At angel island, the now two year old Rutna the echidna was chasing some butterflies in the jungle while her adoptive father Knuckles keeps an eye on her.
"Kyehehehehehe!" Rutna giggled as she chased the butterfly. She jumps to try catch it but fails when she lands on the grass. She gets up again and chases after it again, eventually gives up. Rutna frowns in sadness and heads back to Knuckles.
"Sorry Rutna, but you tried" Knuckles picked her up.
"They are too fast for me Daddy" Rutna said.
"One day you'll get them. Now let's get some grub" Knuckles said and carries her on his shoulders. Rutna grabs her adoptive father's locks to hang on him.
After having some food, Rutna got to her room to play with her chao plush. She shakes it around playfully. Until suddenly, a sharp pain came in her knuckles. Rutna fell to the floor begining to whine in pain. She notices how between her index and ringfinger something was starting to pop out of there. The sharp feeling was getting worser and worser until the skin on her knuckles burst.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Rutna screamed in both pain and shock at what she was seeing, on both hands two metallic claws, about 4 cm has appeared, covered in blood.
"Rutna! What is it?! Are you hurt?!" Knuckles ran in to her room. Upon arriving he saw the metallic claws on Rutna's hands, they were exactly like the metallic claws on Rutna's real father Crimson.
"Daddy! Get sharpies off me!" Rutna cried. She tried to pull them off but they won't come off. Knuckles knees down and picked Rutna up.
"I'll get some help" Knuckles said. He went to get the communicator.

An hour later, Knuckles and Rutna was brought to Dr. Quack for examination. He placed Rutna behind a x-ray on a table.
"Hold still Rutna, this won't hurt a bit" Dr. Quack said, pressing a button on the x-ray. As Rutna's skeleton was shown, the claws was shown to be in fact part of her body.
"Well, Just as I thought. The claws are infact something she inherit from her father Crimson, but unlike him, the claws themself are retracable so no need for surgrey" Dr. Quack said.
"But I want sharpies removed!" Rutna cried.
"Relax Rutna, Calm down and focus" Quack went up Rutna holding her hands. Rutna was just to terrified to do something.
"Take a deep breath and calm down" Quack assured her. Rutna sniffs and took a deep breath, closing her eyes calming down. Her claws went back in slowly into her hands, the cuts on the hands started to heal themselfs.
"I did it! Sharpies gone!" Rutna got happy. Knuckles went up to his adoptive daughter and picked her up from the table.
"And you got regenerative abilites too I see" Knuckles saw no scars on Rutna's hands.
"I do Daddy?" Rutna asked.
"If I may guess, her powers are a result of Crimson's exposure to artifical chaos energy as seen in the files. I might need a sample from her to run tests" Dr. Quack took out a syringe.
"Relax" He carefully injects it on Rutna's arm, making her winch a little. After taking some of her blood, he pours it in a sample bottle.
"You two may go. Have a nice day" Dr. Quack said.
"Okay. Come on Rutna, lets go to Rouge a while shall we?" Knuckles said to Rutna.
"Yay! Me wanna fly on Rouge" Rutna got excited.
