Steely Whiteness
By Vasiliki, 13-5-2002
She didn't desire him, but to be him.
Seeking death
In his image and likeness
Riding forth
So fair, so desperate
Standing proud
She promptly fell amidst her shattered dreams.
Ordered back
From a cage to a cage
Going around, wasting
Fading
No window looking East
Giving up
"I will be a shieldmaiden no longer."
'At hour unbidden shall true love come'
Mourns secretly the tamed spouse
For Death happens only once
And forever lost to her
Is the steely whiteness of her world.
