Gah! It's time! Dimitri's Proposal!

It was one of the moments that Dimitri and I often had, the moments where neither of us spoke, and neither of us had to. We walked through the greenery in comfortable silence. Giving him a sidelong glance, I reminisced how lucky I was to have someone like him, someone who understood me completely. He returned my glance, but I could tell that he wasn't having the same revelation as I was. The look on his face still shone with compassion, but there was something else too. He was nervous; something I had never seen in him before. I was about to ask him what was wrong, when he suddenly grabbed my wrist, pulling me to a halt. Instead, I asked him, "What are-" he pressed a finger to my lips, cutting off my question. Staring into those loving, deep brown eyes of his, I knew something important was coming. "I love you, Roza..." he said slowly, and as usual, I could tell he did. About to tell him I felt the same, he gracefully knelt down on one leg in front of me. This was followed by my sharp intake of breath, as I realized what he was about to do. As he reached into his back pocket, pulling out a small velvet case, I was completely overwhelmed. I would have never expected him to do this, but from the look in his eyes, I could tell he'd wanted to do it for a while now. And me? I didn't know what to think. I mean, of course I loved him, and wanted him, more than anything. But was I really ready for this? It was a great step of commitment, and I was sure that so many would disapprove of it. Nevertheless, as his lips parted to speak, I felt so much love towards him. Before he could even ask anything, I had my arms wrapped around his neck, and my lips against his. We kissed long and passionately, all the while as I kept stopping to say, "Yes... of course," between breaths. I felt like nothing in the world could be more right, and looking at Dimitri told me that he felt the same way. Now we were inseparable, and I was fully glad at this perspective. Regretfully, I pulled away from this kiss, long enough to tell him, "I love you." Without hesitation, using the fingers that never ceased to amaze me, he gently slipped the ring on my finger, whispering, "I know Roza, I love you too, so, so much."

I hope you enjoyed it! I know I sure enjoyed writing it with my friend, and about 80% of the credit has to go to her! (hehe!)
