ok, i have a theory on how link gets those earrings when hes an adult.
one day, little link was skippin around in the forest. "hum hum hum, what a beautiful day in the neighborhood," he thought to himself.
suddenly he tripped over a twig.
suddenly he fell over.
suddenly he got up.
suddenly, this makes no sense to the story!
...anyways, little link soon came upon a bum sleepin next to a stump.
"oy! wake up ya slacker!" link yelled as he kicked the man repeatedly until he woke up. "wheres the merchendise??"
the man woke up and looked at link groggily. "yah i got something for ya... here."
the man gave link a large mushroom.
link drooled. "ooooooooohhhh shrooms... gimme gimme gimme!"
he grabbed the mushroom and skipped away, rolling up a small piece of leaf and lighting a match.
~a few days later...~
when link awoke, he was in a whacked blue place with dripping water and hazy clouds, making his vision swim.
"ugh... where am i?"
an old man popped up out of nowhere.
"why, youre in the sacred realm!"
"whats that?" link asked, dazed.
"why, its the sacred place you go to when you get HIGH! PARRRRRRRRRRTAY!"
and thus, link lived a happy 10 minutes in the high haze of the shroom he had smoked, jumping and running around willy nilly with little bunnies and happy elves. and when he awoke, his ears were pierced and he had some hotel room keys in his pocket.
"oh, shit, zelda aint gonna be too happy bout this..."
