I smile out the window and see
A little girl callin out for me
I smile as she looks at the sky
And I still cannot believe she is mine
I never was very sentimental
Or really helpful when it came to things that were mental
But something I always had a knack with
Was making people happy with some benefits
It's been a long time since I've been home
And all I wanna do is hang out
But he isn't
T here to hold me
And nothing can substitute for that
My family is long gone from m y mind now
And only the little girl can tell
As she sits there swinging her legs
I smile as she looks at the sky
One day she comes and asks me
Where did my daddy go?
I give her a kiss and tell her that I love her
And her daddy had no choice but to go
Her father was a hero and a devil
But only a straight Angel to me
Cause with out him I am broken
And nothing in this world would have been
But sometimes I look out the window
And smile as she looks at the sky
I know she wishes for her daddy just like me
But until he comes back
We'll make sure to get by
He never would leave me alone
SO my daughter is here to stay
But someday soon he'll be back here
And then we can get on with our tune
Nothing is making up for his absence
But at least I got her for company
My friends and family
Can't see why
But that doesn't
T matter cause when I cry
All I really see is him
And I know that's not really safe
But someday soon he will return home
And we can go on with our tune
Sometimes I look out the window
And smile as she looks at the sky
I can't help it that she looks like her daddy
But I wouldn't have it any other way.
It's been five years since she came to me
And even longer then that since we've been

And I can look out the window
And smile at what I say
The three of us
And maybe one or two on the way
Sometimes I look out the window
And smile as I see the little girl
She watches the sky any time of the day
And I know and I can have hope for our future
