"For the love of Salazar will you stop harassing me!"

"You're being melodramatic Severus, and for your information I'm not harassing you. I'm softening you up."

"I'm being melodr... softening me up! For what?"

There is an odd smile on Luna Lovegood's face and he is certain that she has just out maneuvered him.

"For this, silly." she raises herself on tiptoes and leans forward pressing her mouth against his.

Severus' world begins to tilt at an alarming angle. All he can do is hold on as Luna's lips move over his and her hands slide up his chest and neck to bury themselves in his hair. His breath stalls, his heart thunders so hard he feels it might fly from his chest. Finally she pulls away leaving him to gasp for air.

"Why did you do that?"

Her smile widens at his puzzled expression.

"Can't you guess?"

"No."

"I kissed you because I wanted to. I like you, I'm attracted to you and if you are amenable to the idea, I'd like to date you."

Severus is baffled, he cannot fathom how anyone would consider pursuing a relationship with him.

"You're cracked."

"I can assure you I am not. Well, not much, but you still haven't answered the question. Will you go on a date with me Severus?"

He takes a good, long look at her. The girl wants him and he has to admit he is disinclined to refuse.

"You are the strangest young lady."

"Yes, but I think you like strange."
