Five years had past since that day at the wedding and Amu was now 17. Ikuto (who must be 21 by now) had left her with a hope of him coming to find her when she became a woman and he found his father. Amu was very lonely these days. Her Shuggo Chara hadn't rehatched yet, she was in a different high school from all her friends, and Ikuto still hadn't returned. It was okay in middle school because she was still with her friends. But now she was all by herself.
"I wish Ikuto would hurry up and come and get me. I am no longer a child, and he must have found his father by now." Amu constantly told herself this.
She would often go to where the old amusement park used to be and think of the time she and Ikuto went there together. When ever she was at home there were memories there as well. Like him and his Chara Yukto staying in her room hiding from the evil company Easter and everyone else. She even kept it away from her parents that he was in their house. When ever these memories popped up she would always giggle.
One day while she was at school, Amu could have sworn she saw blue cat ears like what Ikuto had, cross across the top floor window of her classroom. But after a minute of thinking about it she pushed the thought of it saying that it was only a cat. As she walked out of the school to start heading home she got a phone call.
"Hello, this is Amu!"
"Look up."
"Huh?" She said as she looked up. On the roof of the school was the one and only Ikuto. When she saw him her mouth hung open and her eyes filled with tears. Suddenly she dropped everything and dashed into the school, up the stairway, and to the roof. She burst through the door panting and staring with tears running down her face at Ikuto. The one, whom she had waited so long for, has finally returned.
"Amu." He whispered. "I'm back!"
She suddenly ran into his arms and hugged him for dear life.
"Don't you dare ever leave me again, you hear me? I was so lonely. I missed you so much." She said crying.
He hugged her back and said in her ear. "I will never leave you alone again. I swear it. I love you Amu."
"I love you too Ikuto. Welcome back!"
With that they shared a kiss that expressed their love for each other. No words were necessary for them to explain how much they meant to each other. After their happy reunion Yoru finally made his appearance known and Amu welcomed him back as well. That night was the best for Amu because she had finally gotten the one she loved the most back aaaannnndddd… her Shuggo Chara rehatched.
