"Don't be sad", Nymphadora told her best friend Emily Anderson. A group of slytherins had laughed at her and the girl was so upset that Tonks couldn't get her to stop weeping long enough to figure out what they'd pestered her about. "Stop crying Mily. You're perfect, don't pay attention to those idiots". The girl tilted her head, tearful eyes looking up at Tonks. Emily tried to smile, but her emotions took control again and she continued sobbing.

"Wait. I got an idea", Tonks pulled her wand from her pocket. "You wanna be happy again?"

Emily nodded.

What Tonks was about to do might be dangerous - she'd learned the spell only a week ago and the hufflepuff wasn't sure whether she'd do it right, but her friend needed it. Tonks smiled, cheerful she'd found a way to make her friend happy again. She aimed at Emily and spoke the incantation of the cheering charm.

Emily immediately started laughing. Grabbing her stomach with a big grin on her face. "It worked!" Tonks exclaimed. Her smile grew wider and she pointed the wand at her own chest. Murmuring the same words as a few seconds ago.

Together the girls laughed until they were rolling on the ground. Grass sticking in their hair and clothing.

Other students passing by looked at them, turning to their friends and talking about how weird those little hufflepuffs were. But Emily and Tonks didn't hear their gossip. It was just the two of them. Laughing their problems away.

It took a while, but the spell started to wear off. The friends sat up, still shaking and laughing; and held onto each other. Emily took a big gulp of air and released a final laugh: "Thanks", she smiled.

Tonks grinned back. "You're welcome".
