"Nikko would never," Courtney started, but slowed at his guilty face, "Do…that." Tears were building up as she watched him turn his back to her. And it was suffocating. She had to get out.
Darting from the stage, Courtney ran out the red doors, leaving a guilty Nikko.
"COURTNEY!" Janet yelled as she dashed after her best friend.
Looking at the ground, Nikko's eyes widened at the tiny water droplet. A tear. Courtney's tear. And he knew. He knew what his path was and who he will travel it with. Stepping off the stage, Nikko sauntered over to the bright red doors, determination in his veins. But as he stepped out into the hall, he was met with an angry and worried Janet.
"Now do you look at what you done?! I can't even find Courtney! She's not here anymore!" Shocked, Nikko ignored Janet's threats and darted out of the school. There was one place she could be. And only he knew it. The place they fell in love. The place where they first sang together. The bowling ally.
As he approached the ally, he was shocked to see it deserted. Well, nearly deserted. The only person there was a lonely, heart-broken girl. Courtney, Nikko thought as he walked over to her. She was sitting on a bench outside the doors, weeping. He clothes looked rugged and tears were all over her clothes, like she was attacked by an animal. But what shocked him was what was all over the tears. Blood.
"Courtney?" Her head snapped up as he sat next to her, waiting for her response. As he looked at his surroundings, Nikko found there was more blood than just on the cuts. There was some on the side walk and wall.
"Nikko," Courtney began, sounding weaker than normal, "It was Royce. He a-at-tacked me with a knife." Nikko knew Royce was low, but this was lower than hell.
"Oh, Court," he said as he wrapped his arms gently around her trembling form. This was his fault. He knew it. If he just turned down the offer…
"This isn't your fault, Nik-k-ko," Courtney mumbled as he continued to think out loud (AND HE DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS!!). Giggling lightly, she listened to his heart beat softly. Chuckling himself, Nikko held her close as time passed on.
It was about half past four that he realized what time it was. But he didn't care, for the girl he loved was in his arms. Standing up, Nikko carried Courtney bridal style on his way to her house. She fell asleep in his arms, but part of her was still FULLY awake, but Nikko didn't know as she entered her house and brought her up to her room.
Laying her on the pale white sheets, Nikko made a mental note to wash them later for her. Kneeling down, Nikko tenderly kissed her forehead, whispering quietly, though loud enough for Courtney to hear in her half-conscious state.
"I love you, Courtney." That was the first time he said it, and Courtney grinned softly as he sat in the chair by her computer. Such sweet words. And Nikko wasn't sure of himself, but he thought he heard Courtney say it back. Ignoring his thoughts, he drifted to sleep, but he never stopped thinking of Courtney. Before falling completely unconsciousness, he smiled as he heard,
"I love you, too…Nikko."
Hope ya liked it! I'm gonna update soon and probably have Nikko beat the crap out of Royce! HAHA!!! Anyway, REVIEW!!!!! Next chapter will probably have a song in it!!!!
