"Mom, I'm home!" Rory said as she walked inside her house, coming home from school.

"Hey, Rory." a man's voice said from the kitchen.

"Wow, mom you're voice has really changed." Rory joked walking into the kitchen to find Luke fixing the backdoor. "Hey, Luke. What's up?"

"Not much. Your mom called and asked me to fix this for you guys. She also wanted me to tell you she'd be home a little late." Luke told her.

"Okay." Rory said. She stood up and opened the refrigerator to find pretty much nothing.

"Do you two actually own any food?" Luke questioned skeptically.

"Um . . . yeah well there's this soda can and um, this leftover pizza." Rory answered picking up the pizza box. She opened the box, smelled the pizza and threw it in the trash. "Forget that, we have a can of soda." Rory sat down at the table.

Luke laughed at her. "Okay, I'm done with the lock. it should work fine."

"Thanks, Luke. I was wondering if we could talk?" Rory said. She wasn't quite sure if what she was about to say to Luke was the right thing to do. If her mom found out Rory would be dead.

"Sure. What do you want to talk about?" Luke asked sitting down across from Rory.

"Well you and my mom have been friends for a long time." Rory began. "And I know you have feelings for her that could possibly be love. I just want to know why you don't tell her."

"Rory, your mom and I are just friends." Luke told her.

"See you're denying it. You can't just always. . . . " Rory kept talking and Luke listened knowing she was right.

Meanwhile Lorelai was walking into the house when she heard Rory's voice saying "You have to stop denying you love her." Lorelai stayed silent waiting to hear who Rory was talking to.

"I guess you're right." That was Luke's voice. Who does Luke love? Lorelai thought. She felt a little flash of jealousy for whoever it was that Luke was talking about but she pushed it aside. "I love Lorelai." Luke said.

Rory let out a squeal of happiness. "This is great." she said.

It's me! Lorelai's mind screamed. She couldn't stay at the house she needed to go somewhere to think. Without listening to the rest of Rory and Luke's conversation, she put on her coat and quietly slipped out of the house.

She was pulled into her thoughts as she walked down the streets of Stars Hollow. How can Luke love me? I can't believe this is happening! Lorelai thought This may not be a bad thing. Lorelai cursed herself for thinking that. It was Luke! She had know idea where it came from. Just then Lorelai bumped into someone.

"Lorelai?" It was Dean.

"Hey, Dean. Sorry about running into you." Lorelai said. She wanted to go home, now. She hated the stuff she was thinking about and she just wanted to lay down at home.

"It's okay. I was just coming over to see if you and Rory wanted to have a movie night." Dean told her.

"Yeah, that'd be great. I'll walk with you." Lorelai and Dean started walking back towards her house. "Oh and Dean if Rory asks I am just getting home from work when you get to our house."

"Sure. Can I ask why?" he asked.

"Um . . . well it's complicated."

"Okay that's fine."

"Thanks Lorelai smiled. A second later she was right back where she was before: thinking about Luke. She didn't know if she felt anything for him, but she knew that what he said affected her.

A/N: okay i know that luke and rory were kind of out of character cause i doubt rory would ever say that to luke and i also doubt he'd admit that he loved her right away but i needed a way for lorelai to hear him say it. i promise it to be better later.
