Ginny tickled the pear and crept silently through the portrait to the kitchens. She loved going down there at night. She had discovered that all of the house elves were off cleaning or fixing up the castle. She liked the elves but the kitchen looked so much bigger without them there, and she could work alone.
She was in the mood for cookie dough ice-cream, but it wouldn't be good enough without home made cookie dough. The door opened, and Draco walked in just as she finished mixing the dough.
"Weasley, what are you doing here?"
She raised her eyebrows at him. "What are you doing here?"
"I want food."
"This late?"
He smirked. "So, what are you doing here 'this late'?"
"Shut up," she said back playfully. She popped a piece of the finished dough into her mouth.
He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. Into her ear he drawled, "Darling if you keep that up your going to look like your mother."
She turned around in his embrace so she was facing him. "Your talking about my mother," she replied grimly.
He smiled down at her mischievously, before moving away to sit on the counter top behind him. In his hand he held a stolen piece of her cookie dough.
Ginny looked appalled. "You stole my cookie dough!"
"I did not."
"Liar," she accused, but he just shrugged. She moved across the kitchen, ready to accuse him again, but he cut her off before she could start.
"Hold up there, Cookie Monster. I didn't do anything wrong."
"Cookie Monster? You do know that that is a Muggle cartoon character right?"
He grimaced. Draco might not be evil, but he still was not too fond of Muggles. "Okay, well then what am I supposed to call you Weasley? I can't keep calling you 'Weasley' all the time."
"How about Ginny?" said Ginny, who was standing directly in front of him now.
"Nope, that's for everyone else. You would never be my Ginny."
"Your Ginny?"
"Yes, my Ginny. So that is why I need a new name for you." He paused, brow furrowed in concentration. After a few moments he finally said, "I don't know."
"How about Ginevra?"
"No, too formal."
"Weaslette?"
"Nope."
"Sugar Pie Honey Bunch?"
"Never."
"Well I'm out of ideas."
He smiled suddenly. "I've got it! I'll call you Cookie Dough."
"Cookie Dough?" She smirked. "What ever you say Master of the Universe."
"Hey, I like that! Call me Master of the Universe from now on."
Ginny rolled her eyes. "No, you're already cocky enough."
He slid off of the counter top so he was standing in front of her, then her pulled her to him. "Oh yeah?" He raised his eyebrows.
"Definitely," she replied.
The cookie dough ice-cream never got eaten that night. In fact, they never even took out the ice-cream, because of a very long snogging session. Eventually they got around to putting the cookie dough in the freezer for later.
Draco and Ginny walked out into the deserted hallway holding hands. After one last sweet kiss goodnight they turned their separate ways.
Halfway down the hallway she heard Draco yell, "Night Cookie Dough!"
She was still smiling to herself as she snuck back into Gryffindor Tower.
