Hey, guys! I've missed all you people on fanfiction... and I guess the lack of communication is mainly my fault... It's been a long time since I've written anything. Even this [a short, little drabble] was written a while ago, and I just felt moved to put it up here. This is kind of a vague story... you can kind of imagine it with any couple [which is kind of how I wanted it to be]. But yeah, since I love contestshipping oh, so much, that's what I'll list it under. Haha... I hope you guys like it. :]

Disclaimer: ...Does this even need a disclaimer?

In the busy crowd, her gaze focused on him immediately. There were many people walking between them, but her eyes were never distracted. It wasn't because he was wearing anything striking—his favorite t-shirt, his favorite jeans. Nothing special, but she couldn't tear her stare away.

Last time they had met, things had ended on a not-so-high note. She closed her eyes for a second, remembering their argument with a grimace. Blame had been thrown to every possible corner in their relationship. Thrown around until the ground they stood on shattered. When the regret had finally started to sink in, it was too late to pick up the pieces.

Opening her eyes once more, she stared at him again, leaning on a nearby building. Her chest felt empty moments before, empty as it had been for the past seven years. She had tried many, many times to bring about the emotions she had once felt so fully. Each try ended in terrible failure, every spark flushed down the toilet, her heart seemingly sent to space to never return again. Yet, with a single glance at a stray strand of his hair, she swore she could feel something. Something… maybe.

"Voice it out, you never want to keep something withheld and have it explode later," he said to her so many years ago. She should've listened back then. Was it alright to listen to him now? Could she run over to him, fling her arms around his neck, screaming "I-love-you"s and "I'm-so-sorry"s?

Enough! Enough…. Shaking her head, she snapped out of her imagination, her fantasies. She had her chance. She blew it.

Yearning to walk away and toward him at the same time, her attention was grabbed by the young woman who had suddenly come up behind him and covered his yes with her hands. Laughter was exchanged, but perhaps if she squinted, she could convince herself that he wasn't as happy as when he was with her. No, no, she didn't wish it.

Only if she could go back to things were. She was seven years too late for such desperate wishes, but… if only…

Unexpectedly, a hand fell on her shoulder. She jumped a bit, turning to face the strange—or not a stranger, it turned out. The man's charming face broke into a grin, "Hey, dear. Did you wait long for me?" She shook her head, taking his hand in hers. A pang shook her soul, but she ignored it as she plastered a smile on her face. She led him away from the other couple. However, her head turned back to glance at the back of the man who was walking down the street in the opposite direction.

"I love you."

Psst. Did you see what I did there? ;]
