2D was having another blank out and was wandering around Kong. As usual, there was a thunderstorm going on. All the other band members were doing their own thing. Russ was endlessly doodling, Murdoc was sleeping off a hangover and Noodle… well Noodle has been missing for the past two weeks or so.
2D sighed and wiped away a tear. Noodle's disappearance was all very sudden. There had been no signs before that. He remembered the day before she went missing that they were all gathered on the couch and just chatting away. Noodle laughed at Russ' jokes and tried telling jokes of her own to try and cheer up Murdoc who was down in the dumps. Not like he's been down anywhere else.
Thunder rumbled and lightning shone. 2D dragged himself down to the couch where everyone was before Noodle was gone. Not one person sat in that couch or even went in that room since that happened. He shivered as he stepped through the door. There was no good reason for going to the dreaded room. But he was bored and boredom does things to people. Bad things.
In fact, 2D was so bored that earlier, he had tried to start a conversation with Murdoc. Of course he knew that his attempt would be fruitless and that it would end with a clobber to the head (putting it lightly here), and some name calling. And it did.
Hesitating a bit, 2D gingerly sat down in the old, faithful couch that was torn in several places, plus a dent caused by Murdoc's rage and 2D's head.
He closed his dark eyes and relaxed, letting everything drift away for a couple of seconds…
"'D-sama, rise and shine!"
His eyes shot open and searched the room desperately.
"Noodle? I-I thought you were gone or somefing…"
His soft voice trailed off as he realized, in a clash of thunder and lightning that lit up the dark corners of the room, Noodle was not there.
Laying back against the cushions, 2D scolded himself.
"You bloody dunce, of course Noodle wouldn't just appear like that. Murdoc was right when he said you have no brains."
Finally, after sulking for a while, 2D stood up and walked down to the carpark again. Maybe Muds was awake now. Not likely though.
On his way there, 2D stopped at a doorway. Even though it was painted the same shade of grey-purple, it seemed much darker and much more sinister.
It was Noodle's room.
He stood staring at it for quite a while. Time went by. Maybe he was there for a minute, or five or maybe an hour. Shaking, 2D lifted his long, boney arm and pushed gently against the door. It swung open and a cold gust of wind greeted him. The entire wall was missing and he could see wonderfully outside into the graveyard and the zombies limping around.
The floor near the missing wall was wet from the rain or it was just 2D's tears.
2D started sobbing despite himself. No, he bawled like a baby. He missed Noodle so much. Who knows what happened to her? She could be dead for all we know…
"'D-sama, don't cry. I'm here."
2D whirled around and cried, "Where?! Where are you?"
Again, there was nothing. But he could still hear Noodle's familiar voice saying words of comfort, echoing in a torturing way.
"I'm here 2D."
2D walked around the room searching for the source of this voice. He was going mad. Everywhere was Noodle's sweet voice saying over and over that she was here.
He collapsed on the floor, dazed and confused. He held his head trying to stop the noise.
"Don't worry 'D. I will always be here."
"NO! You're lying! You're not here!" 2D sobbed, "You're lying… stop it…"
Silence.
Thunder clap, lightning flash.
Silence.
