Summary: Today Severus Snape is getting married and he can't help but reminisce on the past and the man that made it possible. Slash (obviously!) Wicked smirk

Wedding Preparations

According to many people this day was impossible, never going to happen, not in a million years. Obviously they were wrong. Today Severus Snape was preparing to get married. In just a few minutes he'd be at the aisle waiting for his groom to be escorted down, the groom that was madly in love with him and whom he couldn't help but be in love with too. Despite all the odds against him he lived to see this day, the day he would get to say 'I do.'

Butterflies in his stomach, feet made of lead, he couldn't help but wonder whether he was doing the right thing. Repeatedly straightening his tie, fingers trembling, he startled when two hands covered his own, redid his tie and lifted his chin. Looking in Arthur Weasley's eyes he saw nothing but fatherly love and was soothed.

He didn't write any vows, a wise man once told him that 'the best words of love are those that are spoken at the very moment you feel them, with all honesty and no time to consider or prepare.' That is what he was going to do, let the words flow straight from his heart out of his mouth and move him that much closer to his love.

Checking that he had the rings one last time Severus Snape was finally prepared to walk down that aisle and await his future husband. On his way out the door he saw something gleam in a corner. Turning around Severus realized he'd forgotten his cufflinks. With even shakier hands than those that fixed the tie he assembled them and walked back out of the door a little slower than the first time.

Standing at the front of the aisle and watching all the invited guests seat themselves Severus caught the eye of Remus Lupin holding hands with Sirius Black. With a final nod of approval from the two men he let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. They all approved.

As the music started everyone rose and looked to the back waiting for the younger groom to make his entrance. Severus only wrung his hands more bringing his eyes to his cufflinks once again. There was a golden snake with emerald green eyes forming a ring with a silver snake with dark onyx eyes. Inside the ring was a simple message, 'Always and Forever.' Tracing his thumb over the words a tear couldn't help but slide down his cheek.

As the door opened he couldn't help but think back, back to the day when the very idea of marriage was laughable, back to the day when love was nonexistent, back to the day when he was nothing but a cold man. Thinking of that he couldn't help but think how he got here today all because of a single man and his courage, all because of Harry Potter.

A/N: To the people that have read my other stories yes I am starting another once again! I thought of this one night and couldn't help but write it down. This is the only story that I've actually taken out the time to outline, I already have the first 7 chapters started and I can't help but think of this as my baby. I'm putting a poll up because I am throwing 2 ideas back and forth, I know how I want it to go but I feel you readers should have an option also. If you don't have an account you can simply vote in a review or in a pm. Looking for a beta for this story also. Review and let me know if I should even bother continuing, I appreciate the constructive criticism but please no flames. ~*BluEyz*~
