Disclaimer: I, sadly, do not own Death Note and all of it's awesomeness. *Shakes fist up at the sky* WHYYYYY?

The idea for this story came from my liking of frogs. Frogs just rule so much. So do turtles. This is my first Death Note fanfic. I've been wanting to do one for a while.

So far I have only written stories for RA. But now I want to try something new. I'm going to start fanfics on Death Note, Skip Beat, and many others.

Light stared up at the cloudless sky. A small, summer breeze arrived, blowing the fresh green leaves off a nearby tree. They flew off the long, thin branches. A single delicate leaf floated in front of Light's face. He reached his hand out, his long fingers stretching for the small leaf. He caught it, examining the leaf.

It was a light, grassy green. He slid his fingers across it, rubbing it and feeling the texture. It was soft, fresh leaf. He crumpled it angrily, tossing the innocent leaf away. Today was a frustrating day for him. He needed peace, to clear his mind. He sat down on smooth, gray rock. He set his chin in his hands, sighing.

A small, crunching noise reached his ears. They perked up curiously. He peered around, wondering what had made the strange noise. He glanced to his right. There! Two brown, bulging eyes stared at him from behind a rock. He frowned.

Then, the strange creature flew up, landing on a branch that had fallen off a tree. The creature had slimy green skin and large eyes. It was a frog. Light glared at it, wishing it would go away.

The frog lifted it's powerful legs and hopped closer to Light. Light raised his eyebrows down at the amphibian. He could have sworn the frog smiled. His jaw dropped in surprise. It hopped to the side, turning a flip in the air. Light took a step back. The frog jumped closer, hopping from side to side.

Light stared in shock at the tiny frog. The frog lazily let one eyelid down in a wink. Light gasped. He was breathing heavily, freaked out at the sight before him. The frog was taunting him! He clenched his teeth in anger. There was no way a frog was going to show him up.

He whipped out the black notebook from his pocket. He'd show that frog. He opened the Death Note, grinning creepily. He took a stubby pencil from his pocket, and then wrote frog on the crisp page. He shut the notebook with a snap, triumphant. He checked his watch, waiting for forty seconds.

Thirty seconds. Twenty seconds. Fifteen seconds. Ten seconds. Five. Four. Three. Two. One. He smiled, expecting a load thud to sound, signaling the frog's death. He glanced over. The frog was still there, smirking. Light's eyes flared. He threw the notebook down, stamping on it in frustration.

The frog winked in amusement, then hopped quickly away. Light screamed at the sky, ripping his hair out. He snatched up the Death Note and stomped away.

Later that night, Misa opened the door to find Light aiming a shiny red dart at a picture of a frog. She frowned. "Light, sweetie, what's wrong?" she asked anxiously. He didn't reply. She darted out of the room.

A few minutes later, she dragged L into the room. L looked startled.

"Look, he won't reply to anything I say! All he does is throw darts at that dumb picture!" Misa cried. L stared at Light curiously. After a few more minutes, he turned to Misa. "Well, Ms. Amane, it seems that Light..."

Misa nodded, worried.

"Hates frogs."

Light was extremely OCC in this chapter. Sorry about that. But anyway, were the details too overwhelming? Were they enough to get a good picture? Reviews are, as always, appreciated.
