Rest Little Robin
.
Rest little Robin, you're ever so sleepy
Life has made you so worn and weary
All the struggle and pain you've seen this time
I'll sing you to sleep with my little rhyme
.
Rest little Robin, it's getting so late
Lost your whole world when you were just eight
Now you hide behind a smile, a laugh, and a mask
Distancing yourself from your tragic past
.
Rest little Robin, you can't fly forever
You met a man who helped make things better
Now with your team, you have a family, isn't it grand?
But no matter how joyous, soon, every bird must land
.
Rest little Robin, it's been so long
Come, little Robin, you needn't be so strong
You've done such good in your short little life
Now close your eyes and come to the Light
.
Author's Note: So, I might actually do something with this one day, but I found the last stanza sitting in my computer today, and I finished it up. You can read the last two words however you want, but when I reread it thirty minutes ago, I was like "I have to capitalize that last word. I have to!" It does suddenly make the entire thing seem more sinister now. Anyways, here it is. Hope it's alright. I have nothing more to say about it other than I hope an actual story may bloom from it sometime. Any suggestions? Love you all! Take care! God bless!
