Another very short one-shot, seems to be happening a lot today. I've written three already! Gosh, sorry bout' that. Anyway, it's kind of sad, but I hope you like it anyway! Please don't kill me! Not that you could, but, hypothetically speaking, of course. ;)

World Famous Forensic Anthropologist and Bestselling Author Engaged!
Booth stared at the page. Curious, he thought. It did appear like she was wearing a ring, but that was not possible. Not a chance. No way. She'd only been dating that stupid guy for a couple months, although, that was a long time for her… No! Stop it! It's impossible!
Booth looked at the magazine in his hand. The page was flipped to an article on his partner, saying that she had gotten engaged. Yet another magazine. The third one with the same article. But he couldn't believe it. Wouldn't believe it. She didn't believe in marriage: Aaron did. She didn't want kids: Aaron did. Although, Booth had hoped for things to work out for her and himself, and that was the same way as things with Aaron, but that was different. Very different. Booth loved her. Maybe Aaron did too, but probably not. And even if he did, it wouldn't matter. Him and Bones were soul mates. Nobody was going to ruin that. He looked down at the article again and threw it against his desk before storming out.
"Bones! Hey, did you see…" There, look. Right there, on her left hand. A ring. But, surely not an engagement ring, although it does seem expensive. It does look like…
"What Booth? Can you hurry this up? Aaron and I are supposed to meet for lunch." She didn't mean to snap, but she did. She couldn't wait to see Aaron, had been looking forward to it all day.
"Uh, yeah. Never mind, Bones. Bye." She walked off without another word. He stared at her hand until it was out of sight.
"Hey, Hotstuff! Watcha doin'?" Angela walked up to the platform.
It was barely above a whisper, "Bones?" He looked at Angela with pleading eyes.
She took a deep breath and nodded. "You saw the magazines, huh?" He nodded, disbelievingly. "It's true. Her and Aaron." She paused, "I'm so sorry, Booth. Really, I…"
"I know, Ang. Tell her congratulations for me." He turned and walked to his SUV, without looking back. Ever.
So, the ending might leave more to be desired, but I didn't feel like continuing it. I'm in a public place and don't want to cry. In case you don't get it, Booth didn't die. He just left. Anyway, hope you liked it! Or hated it, but in a good way. That's good too.
