My first fic. Well one that I actually finished! Go easy on me. I wanted to leave it open so you as the reader could imagine anyone of the liars in Spencer's place. However, I wanted Spencer there because she fits (at least I think so) the angst I wrote. I intend to keep writing short stuff like this just for fun/to improve my own skills. I love Spemily but Emison won this time. Enjoy! Disclaimer:None of these characters are mine.

Friday afternoon while Spencer was sitting on the swing in her front yard her phone chimed with a text from Emily.
SPENCERRRR wanna go see The Blair Witch with me tonight? My treat, I'll even throw in dinner :) It'll be a 'date'
Spencer thought for a few moments before beginning her reply back.
Yes! I would love to go on a date with you. Yes you dummy, I want to be with you, I want your strong arms around me. It's the only place where I don't feel alone, an actual home. Not like the household I grew up in or even the people that allowed me to lease them for a week, month, or year at a time. Your smell, your humor, the look you get in your eyes when you're talking about everything you love. Your dark chocolate orbs get a bit brighter with each word. I've been lucky enough to see it when you're speaking about me. However they get even more brighter when you speak of her. Alison. There's a warmer tone in your voice, your body language is different. You love me, yes but, you're in love with her. Alison. She's always been my biggest competition. So no, Emily. No I will not go on a date with you. An actual date to me, us simply hanging out to you. Something as simple as seeing a movie and grabbing food means so much more than I'll ever let you see. Want you to see, to feel. Go be with her, tell her how you've loved her for so long and loved her even more when she was "dead." And then by some miracle you opened your heart more and gave her more space when she breezed back into each of our lives when she was alive. I'll never understand, but love isn't meant for us to understand. So again, no Emily. I don't want to see The Blair Witch with you, or go to the grille afterwards and walk home holding hands, stopping ever so often to exchange kisses like we're exchanging secrets. Take Alison. I've also seen the way she looks at you when she thinks no one notices. I noticed.
Spencer's thumb hovered over that blue send button, she contemplated changing her relationship..friendship with Emily forever. Just as she was coming to a final decision a bird flew by startling her, causing her to drop her phone. There were no cracks or scratches but the option to undo the text was available. Here she was again, contemplating. Cancel or Undo?
Sighing, she went for…Emily calling… "Hey Em."
"Hey Spence, I'm about to by the tickets just in case the show is sold out later. I know I sent a text but..I kinda need an answer now haha. So what do you say?" It seemed like forever passed until Spencer gave an answer.
"You know what Em, I'm not feeling too well all of a sudden. I know Ali is home, give her a call, I'm sure she'll love to go."
"Aw Spence I hope you feel better. Do you need me to bring you anything?"
Another reason Spencer loved Emily. Always putting others first.
"No I'm fine Em, thanks though. I think I'll just go lie down for a bit. You and Ali enjoy the movie."
"Okay, I'll call you later just to check on you. Don't hesitate to let me know if you need something. Bye Spence."
Spencer stared at her phone after Emily hung up. If only Emily knew, Spencer thought, how hard it was to say something so simple as a two letter word.
