So I have (what I think to be) a great idea for a story; but do not have the time, patience, or talent to actually write it and so I will post it here. The idea is as follows:
Masterchief and Cortana have just made it back from the first Halo. But this time, the attack on earth is postponed. The higher-ups worry that the stress of the events on Halo might have been too much for John and decide to send him and Cortana on a "bodyguard mission" to Eridanus, Chief's home planet (though they don't know that) to protect one of the last remaining human colonies; as a sort of vacation. John (once more unknowingly) gets housed by his original family. Neither side realizes right off the bat, but they eventually figure it out. Master Chief has to deal with his past and the "could-have-been's", John's parents have to deal with the fact that their son was kidnapped and is now a killing machine.
