Peyton eyed her newest strip. It was of a wedding.
"Sometimes fiction is better than reality" she thought.
Peyton had been struggling to live without him. He must have lied all those times.
She remembered with pain his exact words the night so many years ago:
"No matter how long it takes, I'll wait for you."
Just before that he'd melted her with his I love you's. He truly had his way with words.
And no matter how much she would try to deny it – he would always have her heart. Though Lucas' own only existed in stories he created.
