Firefall watched her lover pace. Back and forth; back and forth.
"Firebaby," she said calmly, "You're making me dizzy. Come sit down."
Without complaint the twenty something mutant sat by the young woman, shoulder pushed to hers. Firefall ran her fingers through singed-looking blonde locks and pulled him to her. He laid his head on her ribs and traced the thin line of bare skin that had appeared when she had laid back.
"This isn't the end of the world, Firebaby. It's just another stage in your evolution. It won't last forever."
"I don't want to evolve anymore. I want my damn powers back."
"I know. I know. Only a little bit longer. Don't give up hope, Firebaby. Never loose hope."
