This is just a short poem that I wrote. It's a carry on from Eve's poem, as we never got to hear it. One-shot :) Please leave a review x

"It's a cliché to write a poem about your mother, but how could I not when you're all I ever think about?

I think about you hugging me, checking that I'm okay.
Your love is my light, keeping the darkness away.

I think about the times that we played in the park.
Walking the dog until it got dark.

And when we got home, dad would make us dinner.
Then we'd play tag, and you'd be the winner.

You would tuck me up in bed, and kiss me goodnight.
And tell me to 'not let the bed bugs bite'.

You'd walk me to school, holding my hand.
Tell me I'm precious, even though I'm unplanned.

I have you, and you have me.
The perfect family, that's what we'd be.

But it's just a dream, too good to be true.
Because I spent my life parted from you."
