Title: The Graveyard

Pairing: Dean/OFC

Rating: G

Comments: Thank you to all of my fabulous girls who read this earlier and gave me their opinions on not only this snippet but my larger fic that this is from. Most especially, moondropz , angelcure , and junalele from livejournal, among many others. This is my first fic, so all feedback is very welcomed. Also this is a small part from a bigger fic called 'The Road Thus Far...' that I'm currently working on, I'll be posting the summary/bare bones outline for that story in the next chapter, for those who are interested. I'd love input on the outline of my story as well. 3

The Graveyard

Dean studied Danielle as she gazed emotionlessly at her father's grave, which lay next to her mother's. She rested a hand upon her father's headstone and spoke softly. "I miss you Dad… You shouldn't have gone after them… not without me." Her voice broke slightly as she continued, "You left me. You left me and now I have no one."

Danielle shook slightly in the evening air, though Dean wasn't sure if it was out of emotion or the cold. He came to her side, shrugging off his leather jacket and placing it around her shoulders.

"…You're not alone…" Dean said softly. "You have Sam and me. You know we'd never let you go through any of this alone." He wrapped a comforting arm around her shoulders.

Danielle looked up at him, a shadow of a grateful smile on her lips. "You've always looked out for everyone. Your father, Sam, … me. Who looks out for you?"

"I do."

"It shouldn't be that way. It's too much for one person, even you." Danielle replied softly, resting her head on his shoulder.

A/N: All feedback is adored by the author, printed out and quite possibly even cuddled as well. Please be sure to check out the summary/outline of the main fic this is from (The Road Thus Far...) as well and let me know what you think of it, and feel free to give me your suggestions and such. I cherish all feedback.
