Author's note: Hello everyone! Welcome to my first ever fanfic, The Beacon Corps! This is a crossover fic between RWBY and Attack on Titan.

So, first of all, I do not own either of these stories! RWBY is property of Monty Oum (Rest in peace T_T) and Rooster Teeth, and Attack on Titan is property of Hajime Isayama.

Anyways, hope you enjoy this! ^_^

In the year 845, the Colossal Titan appeared, breaching the outer wall of the Zhiganshina district. Countless lives were lost when the Titans began pouring into the city. Then an Armored Titan appeared, breaching through the gate of Wall Maria. With that, Humanity was forced to retreat behind Wall Rose.

Over the course of the next five years, the Survey Corps made countless efforts to go beyond the walls and find ways on how they can reclaim the land they've once lost. However, during these expeditions, rumor arose that a new kind of species was discovered. These creatures were fast, dangerous, and carried malicious intents on wiping out Humanity for good. These creatures took many forms of animals - wolves, bears, boars, even giant forms of snakes, scorpions, birds, reptiles, as well as towering pachyderms. This was a threat Humanity could no longer ignore, a threat that makes even Titans the least of our worries.

The Creatures of Grimm

How the Grimm originated was, like the Titans, unknown. However, it should be taken note of that these creatures appeared shortly after Wall Maria fell to the Titans. When the news broke out, widespread panic and despair stirred up many negative emotions among the population. It could be said that these negative emotions are what attracted the Grimm to become more prominent.

Then, an amazing discovery was made…

Within the walls, cave miners discovered a newfound resource in the form of crystals, that could be easily broken down into powder, although it's powder form has been proven to be volatile. This new resource allowed people to grasp control of certain natural elements - fire, lightning, water, etc. - and it could help turn the tide to fight against the Grimm. This power would be appropriately named... Dust

However, there are only few within Humanity that could gain proper control of Dust…

It was a late night, the moon shone brightly over the Survey Corps' main headquarters. Commander Erwin was sitting at his desk listening carefully to a proposal that Lieutenant Ozpin was making.

"Sir, with this newfound Dust resource having been discovered, I believe we may have a chance of fighting back against the Grimm. And moreover, the Titans." said Ozpin, in a determined manner

Erwin rebuttled, "While that is true, only a few people within the Walls are able to have proper control of this power, and we can't waste any time training our soldiers on how to."

"That is why I want to make this proposal. Commander, I believe we should form our own advanced unit of soldiers, within the Survey Corps that do have proper control of this Dust. We'll be the backup cavalry in case the fight turns gruesome."

"So, what do you plan to call this unit?" Erwin asked

Ozpin paused for a moment while looking out of a window, and then with an exhale, he proclaimed, "The Beacon Corps - our name serves to stand as the beacon of hope for Humanity, that one day, our kind will be able thrive once again."

Erwin listened intently, intrigued on how this is going to work, "Interesting… So who do you plan to recruit for this unit?"

"Well, the other day, I was observing some of the new recruits of the 105th Trainees, and, I saw something… I can't quite explain it exactly, it would be rather complicated for you to understand. But, it seemed as though these people were emanating a special energy that allowed them to keep going. Even when it seemed like they had a simple injury, they were able to recover from it quickly..."

"A special energy? That does seem far-fetched, albeit quite astonishing for them to recover quickly."

"Indeed, it is a rather unique energy, almost as if it were an Aura..."

With that, negotiations were settled,

"Very well then, gather as many new recruits as you can, then we'll see if you're 'Beacon Corps' idea can come to fruition. I'll give you one week to see that their training is at peak condition." Erwin stated.

"Thank you, commander. I knew I could count on you to approve of this. However, I can't do it all alone. Mind if I bring along Goodwitch, Oobleck, Port, and Ironwood?" Ozpin asked.

"Of course, take as many supervisors as you need. I'm sure Bartholomew will be able to whip them into shape, although I wonder how you and James will be able to work well together."

"We may be at odds, but he is trustworthy."

With that, Ozpin leaves Erwin's office

*phew* Prologue done! Expect chapter one to come around either later this week or next week (gotta focus on school, ugh). But feel free to tell me what you think, read and review, don't forget to follow this story for more! ^_^
