AN: Hello all! ? This is my second pjo/hoo story. Oddly enough this story has been coming to me through dreams… so yah you people get a one way ticket to the random, awkward, confusing, and odd place called my brain!

Constructive criticism is always welcome as is random other comments. Just no flaming please.

You know that feeling you get when summers ending and schools about to start. How you dread sitting through classes and just enduring the overall torture of highschool. That's me, right now.

"Annie there's a week left until school starts let's have some fun!" Piper whined. Thalia, Piper, Thalia's brother Jason and I went to California all summer. We're supposed to meet Thalia and Jason's cousins Percy and Nico today or tomorrow. Jason's been going to see them pretty much all summer but the girls and I broke off and went on our own. This was our last full day before flying back to New York. Tomorrow we were leaving around noon.

"Annabeth are you even listening to us!" Piper screeched. Thalia rolled her eyes just as her phone went off. She glanced at the screen, smiled, and said;

"I gotta take this" before walking away. Piper and I went over to secretly listen to her conversation.

"Hey Kelp Head!" She started, Piper and I shared a confused look. We'd never heard about a 'Kelp Head'.

"No I'm not doing anything." She said then looked over at us.

"Is it ok if I bring some friends along?" She laughed at whatever 'Kelp Head' said and shook her head.

"Only you Kelp Head only you. I gotta go now see you then." She hung up and walked over to us.

"You guys are gonna meet my cousins today!"

We met up with Thalia's cousins and brother at the beach. Thalia, Piper and I all had different plans. Piper was going to tan an hopefully meet some cute boys, Thalia was going to hang out with her cousins and brother, and I was hoping to sit in the sun and read a good book with maybe some swimming after. As we were looking for Thalia's cousins a bunch of guys stared at our group. They must be looking at Piper. Her mother was the famous model Aphrodite McLean and her father was the famous actor Tristan McLean. Thalia's mother died when she was little but her father, Zeus Grace owned a huge line of airports all over the country. I was told that Thalia's cousins were sons of Poseidon Jackson who owned a huge boating company, and Hades DiAngelo who owned a chain of funeral planning companies. (AN: I have no clue if those actually exist but let's pretend) Basically all four were filthy rich. I wasn't complaining since I'm the daughter of Athena Chase who was a very well known architect. I went between living with Athena and my father, Fredrick Chase. He and my mother got divorced when I was little and now he has a new happy little family. His wife, Helen and him have two sons, Bobby and Mathew. They're twins and are ten years old. I mostly live with my mother since Helen hates me. She can barley stand being in the same room with me.

"Guys this is my cousin Nico." Thalia pointed to a short guy with wild black hair. He was very pale and didn't seem to like being center of attention. He wore black jeans and a black t-shirt of some band I didn't recognize. Nico didn't look dressed for the beach at all but I got the vibe he didn't exactly swim. Thalia turned a pointed to another guy I didn't know was there.

"That's Percy" Percy was tall and muscular with perfectly messy raven black hair. The girls at my school would be all over him but I got the sense he didn't care for that. He had the most gorgeous eyes. They were a sea green that seemed to swirl around into different colors. One could easily get lost in them.

"So which one is Kelp Head?" I asked. Percy grinned.

"Percy's Kelp Head and Nico's Death Breath." Thalia explained. Nico winced at the nickname but turned to Jason.

"He's Lightning Boy." Nico said almost whispering.

"She's Pinecone Face." Percy said pointing at Thalia. Piper and I laughed. Piper set down her stuff and laid down to tan. I sat down and began to read but Thalia pulled it from my hand.

"Oh no you don't! It's the last day we're in California and you want to spend it reading! Not on my watch." Thalia then started running with me on her heels. I could hear Piper and the others laugh while people in our way scrambled to move.

"Thals get back here!" I yelled gaining speed.

"Nope" she replied and ran through some poor kids sand castle. I looked around calculating the fastest way to get to Thalia. If I just went around the umbrella and to the right I could circle forward and stop right in front of her. I ducked around the umbrella as Thalia laughed.

"Giving up so soon Annie." I wouldn't be so sure about that. While running she turned to look for me and I stopped right in front of her.

"Going somewhere?" I asked smoothly. Thalia stopped and stared at me. She looked bewildered.

"How'd you…?" I grabbed the book and ran back to my chair. After I returned from the epic chase I saw that Jason had picked up Piper and was now running into that water. She screamed at him to put her down but he just shook his head grinning. Percy and Nico were laughing at Piper's struggle. Thalia returned after they were already knee deep in water. She started laughing.

"You go Jason!" She yelled. She pointed to Piper.

"Look at her." Thalia laughed again and Percy easily picked her up.

"You're one to talk." He said as he started towards the water. Thalia's eyes widened in realization.

"Put me down Kelp Head!" She yelled then looked over to me.

"Help!" She yelled. I started to walk over but Percy lifted me over his other shoulder.

"Put us down!" Thalia yelled pounding on his back. Percy grinned.

"Nope" he said copying Jason. Thalia must have known it's no use cause she stopped complaining an started whining. I laughed at her. When Percy was in waist deep he dropped us. When we both surfaced we watched Jason push Nico in and everyone laughed. A very angry Nico then ran chasing after Jason.

"Dude not cool! I'm not wearing a swim suit!" He yelled. Jason shrugged

"Oops" he said and ran.

Percy's POV:

This was a lot of fun! I only wish we'd met them sooner. I really wanted to see the blonde girl again but I never got her name. As Jason, Nico and I were leaving the beach I noticed something shining in the sand. It was a silver necklace with a little metal owl on it. I recognized it immediately but couldn't place where I'd seen it.

"Bye Perce, Nico see you guys sometime during break." Jason said waving. He was heading home tomorrow and school would start soon after. I waved to Jason and headed home thinking about the mysterious blonde.

Annabeth's POV:

It was about 7 when we headed back. I had a lot of fun on the beach and I could tell Thalia already missed her cousins. I don't know why we didn't meet them sooner. The girls and I had watched a movie before getting ready for bed. We were all packed and ready to go. Before going to bed my hand automatically went to my neck to hold my necklace. My mother gave me a small silver owl necklace when I was little and I never take it off. Naturally I panicked when it wasn't there. Piper and Thalia must've noticed me panicking cause they asked what was wrong.

"I can't find my necklace, the one my mom gave me!" I exclaimed and started tearing stuff apart. Wordlessly they joined me, knowing how important this was to me. I couldn't find it anywhere.

"Ugh! Its. not here!" I yelled throwing stuff to the floor. Piper came over and hugged me while Thalia started to put stuff back.

"It must've fallen off in the water or I would've noticed." I sighed. Piper and I helped Thalia clean up then I went to bed.

Annabeth's POV

Sadly I looked at the door of Goode High. I was a senior this year and very excited to leave this place. Don't get me wrong I'm sort of popular and I have a lot of really close friends, I'm just bored here. I've been here for three years now and I want a change. I'm going to college on a full scholarship since I have had straight A's practically since I was born. I want to become an architect like my mother. I've dreamed of building something permanent ever since I was little.

"Annabeth!" Katie Gardener screamed, running towards me. Since I went to California this summer I barely got to see any of my friends.

"How was your summer?" She asked kindly.

"It was really fun! We went to the beach a lot and I met Thals cousins. What about you?" She blushed.

"Well I saw the Stolls a lot and they pranked so many people I think its a new record." As if on cue the Stoll brothers ran through the hallway being chased by a very angry looking Beckondorf. Katie and I burst out laughing just as Silena arrived. She beamed when she saw us and ran over to join the group.

"Annabeth glad to see you!"

We all talked in the cafeteria until everyone arrived. We had a big group. There was: Katie, the Stolls, Silena, Beckondorf, Thalia, Jason, Piper, Juniper, Grover, and I. We were the second most popular group in the school. Rachel Dare was the Queen Bee of the school. She was like a mean girl out of a movie. Her two best friends/followers Brittany and Drew and the other cheerleaders were all part of her group. They were by far the meanest girls in school. (AN: no offense to any cheerleaders who may read this) Speaking of the devil there she is now.

"I see you're back from California Annabeth." She said cooly. I nodded.

"Well you missed some of the greatest parties ever." She said trying to make me jealous.

" You know California was a nice break from you and your group of bitches." I said smoothly. A bunch of people around us yelled out.

"Ohhhh burn!" Rachel looked shocked. She squealed then turned around and left. I was sort of viewed as the leader of our group even though we've all been friends since we were little. I got a bunch of high fives just before the bell wrung.

Percy's POV

A note plopped on my desk in the middle of science class. I looked around to see any indication of who it was from but there were no clues. It said:

Perce, you know that necklace you found at the beach? Well apparently one of the girls is looking for it. Thalia said it means a lot to her and she was really upset when she found out she lost it. You should return it.

I grabbed a pen and scribbled on the back;

Did Pinecone Face say what the girls name was?

I passed it to Jessica, the girl next to me and pointed to Nico. She nodded and passed it on. I could tell she liked me but I didn't like her. She's had about ten boyfriends in the last two months and often has them overlapping. A few minuted later a note appeared on my desk. It had one word on it.

Nope

I started to write back when the teacher, Mrs. Dodds took it.

"Passing notes are we Jackson?" She asked grinning evilly. Mrs. Dodds always liked it when I got in trouble.

"Detention" she said, handing me a slip.
