Note: Well I heard this song, and really wanted someone to do a vid to it, cause I thought it would be better with a clip from Casanova, which I don't have. But I found a way to get around it, and decided that before I did that, I would also do a songfic to it.

I cut out a bit of the song. I cut out the repeated "Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?" just because one line gets the point across fine.

And to those who read my fic An Italian Ball: the last chapter will be up soon. Kind of stuck on how to get it to the final scene.

Disclaimer: RTD owns the doctor/doctor who (sadly). John Mayer owns the song. BUT I own this songfic…and that's basically it.

When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The waking up is the hardest part

He slowly awoke, before he shot up in his bed.

You roll outta bed and down on your knees
And for a moment you can hardly breathe

He fell out of bed onto his knees, but didn't care. He usually would get up, but not this time. He sat there holding his breath for a moment.

Wondering was she really here?
Is she standing in my room?

"Rose?!" he yelled, hoping it was true.

No she's not

'cause she's gone, gone, gone, gone, gone...

But it wasn't. She wasn't there. He had fallen asleep while reading, again. And he had a dream about Rose, again. But she still wasn't there. She never would be there.

When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The giving up is the hardest part

Tears fell from his eyes. He needed to give up about her coming back. Not falling asleep wishing he could see her again, because he wouldn't. But giving up Rose was hard, probably harder than losing her

She takes you in with your crying eyes
Then all at once you have to say goodbye

It was like it always was. In the dream she was at his side. She held him in her arms as they both cried. But then he woke up, going back to being without her.

Wondering could you stay my love?
Will you wake up by my side?

He looked over at his bed, hoping that maybe, just maybe, she would be there asleep. That she would be able to stay with him.

No she can't

'cause she's gone, gone, gone, gone, gone...

But she wasn't there. She couldn't be there. She's gone.

Now do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand
Would you get them if i did?

Since leaving her, when he would go to sleep, which he did more now, he use to think over and over, "I love you Rose Tyler. I miss you." hoping she would some home hear it.

No you won't

'cause you're gone, gone, gone, gone, gone...

But she wouldn't. She never would. She's gone

When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The waking up is the hardest part

He slowly got up from his knees and layed back down in his bed. He was alone and broken hearted. Every time he woke up he realized that's how others must feel after losing someone they loved, after dreaming while broken hearted. He felt like such a human. He was dreaming with a broken heart, and waking up from the dream would be hard, because it would mean losing her again and again.

Note: So quite a bit of this song is piano and guitar, so that's why it's short. And the part where it says "She takes you in with your crying eyes" I'm not sure if that's what it says, but we'll say it is.

So please review!
