The Baby
"You screw up all the time but so do I way worse," shouted Eloise.
"Great toast folks. Good night," said Nikki
"The baby is a screw up!" shouted Eloise.
"Perfect thank you," echoed Nikki. "The baby is a – what, what baby.
There was a sudden silence on the ferry nobody spoke.
"What baby Teddy?" asked Nikki.
"Our baby. Mine and Eloise," Teddy said. "She's pregnant. 8 months."
Gasps where heard. "How did anyone miss that?" somebody whispered.
"It's this great screw up. It's this perfect screw up," was heard from the dock.
"And I…. I think I'm in labour,"
Despite Nikki's protests but with an encouraging smile from his sister Teddy dived off the ferry and swam back to the dock.
"Your what?"
"I'm in labour," said Eloise.
"Was there anymore to that speech?" he asked.
"I don't want to be disappointed by anybody but you! And I don't want to disappoint anybody but you. If you're, ready to be, like, the person who always forgives me, then I want to be the person who always forgives you." finished Eloise.
"That's really good," he said. "Can we do that?"
"Yeah." Said Eloise.
"Let's do that," he said.
"Okay," she whispered.
Then he kissed her.
Hour later Joe Millner entered the world.
