Connie Beauchamp was stressed. Very stressed. It was midnight and she still hadn't done all her admin. She loved being in charge, but she still hated the paperwork.

"Come back to bed" her partner's voice made her jump.

"Rita, I haven't gone to bed, so how can I go back to it?" she snapped.

"Touchy touchy!" Rita teased. Connie couldn't help but smile at her cheekiness.

"Is Gracie asleep?" she enquired.

"I'm not sure, I heard her padding around about half an hour or so ago?" her partner answered.

"Okay, I'll leave her to settle and check in on her about half an hour" replied Connie.

An hour passed, and Connie finished her admin.

She got changed into her nightclothes and got into bed, smiling at the sight of Rita snoring.

"Hello" she smiled, snuggling up to her.

"Mmmph?" asked Rita.

"I'm in bed, dopey. Admin's finished!" Connie gave Rita a kiss on the cheek.

"Good good" Rita mumbled happily.

"Stop hogging all the duvet! I'm cold!" grumbled Connie a while later.

"I'm not!" protested Rita.

"Are!"

"Am not!"

"Are!"

"Am not!"

The pair argued for a while, Connie was just about to get the spare duvet and head downstairs when there was a knock on the door.

"Gracie?" Connie whispered.

"Yes?" her daughter shuffled into the room.

"Can I sleep in your bed? Please? I'm cold in my one!" she continued.

Connie rolled her eyes. "Fine. As long as you don't wriggle around!" she ordered.

Connie and Grace got back into bed, and Grace snuggled into Rita.

"You snore, Mum." She said as an explanation.

"Okay, okay" Connie assured her.

The Clinical Lead dropped off. Rita started to snore, and Grace fell asleep as well.

Until about 4, that is.

"Mum! There's a bird singing and I can't sleep" Grace moaned.

"I can't either" Rita whined.

"I swear I live with two children instead of one" Connie growled. "I can't do anything about it!" she protested.

"We could get a cat" giggled Rita.

"Hmph" Connie frowned.

Eventually, they all got to sleep again.

At 9, Connie woke up to see that Rita and her daughter were still sound asleep.

"Good job it's the weekend" she smiled at the two.

"Good morning" Rita said a while later, making her way into the kitchen where Connie was checking her emails.

Connie gave Rita a kiss. "Morning" she smiled warmly.

"Now Mrs B, are you going to be a nice Mrs B at work today?" Rita tapped her on the nose.

"Only if you don't snore as loudly as you did last night, or was it this morning?" Connie laughed.
