She burst through the door, gasping. "Slade, I made it! I'm alive! I can't believe they almost beat me!" She gasps out.

He turns toward her, lashing out with his fist. "That was nothing compared to what I'm going to do to you." He says, going in for another punch.

"You've failed me, apprentice." He said, accentuating every sentence with a punch. "I ordered you to eliminate the Titans." Punch "You did not." Punch. "I commanded you to fight and you ran." She collapses to the ground.

She gets up shaking. "You can't treat me like this!" She shouts at him.

"Can't I?" He said sinisterly. He smacks her. "Who else would have you, my dear? You've done horrible things. Unforgivable things. Where else could you possibly go?" He loomed over her.

"Anywhere but here!" She shouts at him. "I'm sick of fighting and I'm sick of you!" She tries to tug the top of her suit of, but it barley budged.

"You'll find that quite impossible. The suit's neural interface is integrated into your nervous system Into your skin." She looks at him confused "It's part of you... and so am I, Terra."

She gasps "No!"

"You've chose this life, apprentice. It's too late to change your mind now. Far too late." He tells her.

"But it's not too late for me to walk out the door." She turns walking to the door. She almost makes it out.

"I'm afraid it is, my dear. You see, you no longer have any control within the matter." He said to her retreating pushes a button on his arm console. Electricity pulsed along her body and she bends over slightly, trying to fight off his control. He motions her forward and she walks bowlegged up to him. He takes her chin in his hand, forcing her head up. A few tears escaped her eyes.

"You promised to fight at my side forever, and that's a promise I intend to make you keep." He hissed.

When he busts through the door he sees her on the ground, crying. He goes over to her, putting his hand out to touch his shoulder. "Terra?"

She turned toward him. "Destroy me! Quick!" She says, tears in her eyes.

"What?" He asks her confused.

"Come on!" She urges. "Isn't that what you came for? Do it! Now!" She shouts at him.

"Terra?" He asks her again, confused. Suddenly she lashes out with a ball of yellow energy, sending him flying.

"Forgive my apprentice." Slade said, appearing out of the shadows. "As usual, she can't seem to control herself. So from now on, I will be controlling her every move." He makes a motion, and Terra copies him, throwing rocks. She tries to hold back but his control is two strong. Beast Boy tries attacking Slade, but Terra blocks him, knocking him over.

He rises shakily. "What have you done to her?" He shouted at him.

"Nothing she didn't want me to." He has Terra stand beside him. "Terra came to me seeking control. And that's precisely what I've given her: my control, her body." Beast boy glares angrily at him. "I think you'll find I make far better use of her powers." He raised his arms above his head, Terra coping his movements, sending rocks flying around them. "That's my good little girl." He says, almost inaudibly.

They fight for a long time, but he finally pins her down, taking the form of a giant gorilla. "You have to stop me Beast Boy!" She says, struggling against his weight. "Please! I don't want to fight anymore!" She begs.

He returns to his original form, still on top right of her. "Then don't let Slade control you anymore!" He shouts at her.

She turns her head away. "I have no choice."

"That's a lie!" He shouted. "You've always had a choice!"

Slade regains control of her body as Beast boy loosens his grip slightly. She pushes him off of her, and the fight resumes. He flies back hitting the wall.

He gets up and walks toward her as she keeps throwing boulder after boulder at him, shouting still, trying to get his point across. "It's all been your choice! YOU chose to work for Slade, YOU chose to betray us, and now you've chosen to give him control. Slade isn't doing this Terra, YOU are!"

"No!" She shouted. She knew what he was saying was true, but she was still under Slade's control.

She threw him off of her and began to unleash a hail of rocks at him. As he is moving out of the way of an oncoming rock, another lands on his leg. He struggles to pull away from it, but can't. "Very good, my dear." He tells her. "Now, shall we finish him off?" She walks stiffly towards Beast Boy as he tries to free himself. She raised a glowing hand, and a large pile of rocks floated above him.

"Terra, no!" He shouted

She's straining against Slades control. "He's too powerful! I can't stop him!" She said.

"Yes, you can!" He said, trying to get through to her to make her understand. "It's your power, not his! You can still control it! You can still do the right thing!" He pleads.

"It's too late." She says resignedly. She clenches her fist, forming a large pointed stalactite above him.

"STOP!" Robin swings down from the rafters, Cyborg and Starfire emerge from the shadows. Rave materialized behind her.

She hears Slade shout at her. "Strike, apprentice! Now!"

The others begin shouting over each other, trying to convince her to stop.

Robin: "Terra, no!"

Raven: "It'll be the last thing you'll ever do!"

Slade: "I gave you an order! Do it!"

Starfire: "Please, Terra, no!"

Cyborg: "Don't do it! Don't do it!"

Robin: "Listen to us, Terra!"

Cyborg: "You're not playing around here!"

Raven: "Fight it!"

Starfire: "You're still our friend!"

Robin: "You don't have to do this!"

Starfire: "We want to help!"

The noise around her begins to fade, as she only focuses on Beast Boy, she only hears his voice. "It's your life, Terra. Your choice. It's never too late to change." He pleads, one last time.

She shuts her eyes for a moment, letting his words sink in. She opens her eyes. "Sorry, Beast Boy - for everything I've done." She turns around screaming, hurling the stalactite at Slade. He dodges out of the way of the oncoming rock. Terra flies at him on her rock as Cyborg runs up to Beast Boy and frees him. They watch as Terra confronts Slade, but it is obvious that he has the upper hand.

"You ungrateful little..." He shouts, rushing forward toward her. She throws rocks at him, knocking him off a cliff. When she goes to see that he actually fell, he burst up, punching her, knocking her over. He lifts her up with the top of her suit preparing to deliver the final blow

Her eyes shoot open glowing yellow, and her hair grows, as if an electric charge had just coursed through her body. "You can't control me anymore!" She shouts, and creates a giant earthquake, knocking him into a large crevasse.

Lava begins flowing around them. "Terra's power! It's triggered a volcano!" Robin shouted.

Cyborg glances at his scanner. "Big enough to take out the whole city! And WAY too big to stop!" He says.

A burst of lava erupts around them. Raven lifts her hand creating a shield for them. "We have to get out of here!"

"Terra!" Beast Boy shouts as the others begin to retreat. She floats down landing in front of Beast Boy she collapses into his arms. "Come on! We gotta go!"

"I have to stay." She tells him looking around as the place continues to fall apart.

He looks at her, flabbergasted. "No!" He tells her, trying to be heard above the sound of the falling rocks.

"I'm the only one who can stop it." She says.

"Please, Terra!" He begs. "You can't! It's too late!"

She pushes her stray hair behind her ear and smiles at him. "It's never too late." She gives him a final hug, knowing it would be the last thing she would ever do. "You were the best friend I ever had." She whispered into his shoulder. She pushes away from him smiling. She steps back, splitting the rock they were standing on in two, moving away from him. Her body begins to glow. She knows what using this much power will do to her, but she doesn't care. Her last thoughts are if her friends, if they had forgiven her, and what would happen to Beast Boy when this was all done. She was going to die a hero.
