A Birthday To Remember
Hermione sighed as she climbed into bed. It had been a really long day, and all she wanted was a cuddle from her husband. The problem with that being that he was away for work, and would be for another week. Looking at the book on her bedside table, she shook her head. Not even that could distract her tonight. Instead, her eyes fell on the picture on the wall, blown up and framed, it was her pride and joy.
She stood in her white wedding gown, looking like a completely new woman, with soft hair and make up, and a smile that seemed to light up her entire face. He stood behind her, embracing the Muggle customs she had been brought up with in his top hat and tails, looking more handsome than she had ever seen him.
They contrasted against each other, both in the photo and in real life, and she knew she was lucky to have him. Despite the turbulent past between them, and yes, she knew that was being kind, they had grown up, and dare she even think it, matured into reasonable adults. Of course, growing up in the war had helped with that maturing considerably.
She missed him. Turning over to go to sleep, she pulled his pillow to her and wrapped her arms around it. It wasn't as good as the real thing of course, but it smelled like him, and until he got home, it would have to do.

She woke up slowly, unwilling to awaken fully from the dream of having her husbands arms wrapped tightly around her torso. It was such a vivid dream, and it felt so real that she didn't want to lose the feeling.
Opening her eyes, she blinked sleepily a few times, fighting against the bright sunlight that permeated the room. Stretching her arms, she found herself unable to move fully, a heavy weight across her chest making it difficult. Turning her head, she found him watching her with an amused expression on his face.
"You're home," she gasped, lunging for him as he laughed, wrapping his arms around her tightly. "I missed you," she mumbled into his chest.
"I missed you too. You didn't really think I'd let you wake up on your Birthday without me, did you?" he asked, kissing her nose when she looked up at him, chuckling when she wrinkled it.
"I love you," she told him with a smile.
"I love you too, Mrs Malfoy. Let's get on with making this a birthday to remember, huh?"
With a devilish smile, Draco proceeded to show his wife just how much he loved her.
