This is a little Chopper fic I wrote cause I feel that there is just not enough out there.

If I owned One Piece, do you think I would be on fanfiction right now? Answer: probably... but I don't own it so there's no problem.

Growth

Chopper lay still on the cloud. He felt blood soak into his fur. His blood. Gedatsu stood over him while biting his lip.

Fear came over him. It was so familiar to him, too familiar. He had felt it before, when he first met Dr. Hiluluk. He had felt it when he first met the Strawhats. He had felt it when he had been fighting Mr. 3 and Ms. Merry Christmas. He had felt so many times before. He felt it earlier today even, when he was all alone on the Merry. He felt it now.

No one was going to save him now. This was it. This had to be the end. He was just too weak. Too weak to live. Too weak to fight. Too weak to survive.

He was so weak that he was always relying on someone. Dr. Hiluluk, Doctorine, Luffy, Usopp, everyone. He didn't mean to rely on them; it just sort of worked out that way. It was like the universe was telling him he couldn't do things alone. He didn't think much of it because he didn't like being alone. Now, he was.

It wasn't like the Strawhats had left him. They were all off fighting there own battles. They were all strong. Usopp and Nami, too. They were a team. They were all nakama.

They all had different dreams too. They would help each other to reach there dreams, but there were some things that had to be done alone. He was alone now.

This was one of those times were he had to rely on only himself.

He needed to grow, to improve. He would have to gather all his strength and his courage, and fight for himself. He had to be strong. He didn't need to be the strongest, just strong enough. To depend on himself to reach his dream.

If he gave up now he would not grow. He would not get strong. He would not reach his dream. He would die.

If he died, he would be failing more then just himself. He would be failing Dr. Hiluluk, Doctorine, Luffy, and all the other Strawhats.

Right then he picked himself back up. He would not fail. Not one single person. Right then he got stronger, and it wouldn't be for the last time either. He would overcome as many challenges that came his way, with all his strength. It was right then, and right there, that Tony Tony Chopper grew.
