I thought St. Valentine's Day would the perfect time to try a song fic. My big brother wrote 'Hannah's song' for his girlfriend so I don't own it or X-Men Evolution, but I do have the kind permission to use the song.
Kitty's Song
Kitty woke up in the middle of the night to a sound of tapping on the window. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and saw, to her surprise, Lance climbing over the railing.
Opening the window, he started to explain."I hope it's not too late. I had to finish wrapping your present." Lance shyly presented something carefully wrapped from behind his back. "Happy Valentine's Day."
She slowly unwrapped the present on her bed, taking extra care not to rip the beautiful paper. At last it revealed itsself to be a home-made CD with a picture of herself on the case.
"I – I don't know what to say," Kitty stammered. To tell the truth, she wasn't expecting anything like this. Something more along the lines of, say, flowers and chocolates.
"Here, let me." Lance took the disk and put it into Kitty's stereo.
"Do you want to wake the whole mansion up?" Kitty whispered.
"Just on low then," he whispered back, turning the volume down.
The CD started to spin, and Lance's voice came out of the speakers.

As the song faded out, Kitty's eyes started to water.
"It wasn't that bad, was it?" came the worried voice of Lance.
Dumbfounded, she shook her head and wrapped her arms around him in reassurance that she loved it.
Finally, words began to form, "Just for me?"
He smiled, "Just for you."
