Princess Tutu: The Lost Chapters

A/N: Yes, my first Princess Tutu fanfic. It's a bit confusing in this chapter since this is a prologue and I love my prologues to be puzzling. So, hope you enjoy!
Prologue:A little girl in rags kneeled down and reached out to touch the boy's face…
"Oh, my dear knight, why is it that I feel so guilty…?" Her sad eyes stared at the unconscious boy. "Why do I feel so… useless… and hopeless…?"
"Why is my auntie so unfortunate to take care of a pathetic girl like me?" She stroked the boy's cheek and then looked up toward the sky. Little by little, bits of white fluff began to fall. The girl blinked in surprise. "It's snowing at a time like this?" She stretched out her hands as snowflakes landed upon them. It really was snowing…
"You must not catch cold, my knight…" the girl said and took off her worn-out cloak and placed it upon the boy. "There… that is better…"
"Karen!" a female voice called.
"I'll be right there, Auntie!" the girl replied back. "Silly knight, it is not very smart to sleep out on the streets… especially for someone like you…"
"Karen!" the voice called again.
"Just a minute!" she shouted back and continued to stare at the boy. "Well, I must be leaving now…" Her hands went to the back of her neck and unlatched her necklace. "Here is a present for you… because you will be my first friend for listening to me…" She placed the beautiful turquoise necklace around the boy's neck and smiled. "I'm sorry I do not have more since my family is very poor. This necklace is my most precious possession so take care of it, alright?"
"Karen! What is taking you so long?" her aunt's voice exclaimed, much more annoyed than before.
The poor little girl took a last look at the boy and then… stood up and left…
"Good-bye, my knight…"
A/N: Heh heh… Yes, the girl is talking to an unconscious boy lying on the streets… I know it's really weird. Anyways, the boy's not actually sleeping, as the girl said he was since she is so naïve, he actually fell unconscious on the streets from unknown reasons. Ah, the next chapter will be better!
