Kryptonite
By Jacklyn Stone
Author's note: Well, this is the prologue. Not really much here. Just a conversation between two men. You'll find out who they are later in the story (if you haven't already guessed). The song inspiration here is Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down. You'll see the connection later, I promise. Well, read and review, and please be nice!!!!

"You know you have to leave."
"I'm aware of that, Seth."
"They'll kill you on sight."
"Thank you for reminding me, Seth."
"But honestly, did you really kill him?"
"No, Seth, I didn't. I told you that."
" 'Cause if you did, that's okay with me…"
"Seth, please. Would I lie to you?"
"Yeah."
"…"
"… well, most of the time you do…"
"… I'm not lying now, trust me. Jay was my best friend. I wouldn't kill him. You know that."
"Too bad the MTG doesn't know that. With your background—"
"Seth, that's all over and done with. I'm retired, remember?"
"You're only 24. People aren't going to believe you. The police still haven't."
"Well, this time, the police aren't involved. We don't need to worry about them."
"… so, what're you gonna do with the kid?"
"… what kid?"
"Don't tell me you don't remember…"
"I didn't hear about any kid…"
"You promised her you'd watch him…"
"… ::gasp:: oh, crap. I can't babysit a kid! Not with this shit goin' down!"
"You did promise her…"
"… damn."
Well, how'd you like it? I thought it was pretty bad, but since this was the best I could write in, like, a month, I decided to go with it. Please be nice…
Jacklyn
