Dogs
Hello, hope you are having a good day. This is a prompt that P helped me with.
One day, Merlin was helping Arthur. Arthur had asked him to check on the dogs. Merlin was not happy. He was terrified of dogs because of what had happened when he was little. He asked one of the guards to do it. Merlin went back to Arthur.
"Merlin, I was thinking that maybe we should go on a hunting trip with some of the knights and the hunting dogs." Arthur said.
"DO we have to bring the dogs?" Merlin asked.
"Yes. Why?"
"Nothing."
"Then gather the knights."
Merlin gathered the knights and Arthur told them the plan. At the mention of bringing the dogs, Merlin panicked. Gwaine and Lancelot noticed it. When they left, Merlin went to the dogs. He saw the guard and went to him.
"What's wrong, Merlin?" The guard asked.
"Arthur wants to bring the dogs." Merlin nervously said.
"Oh. Did you tell him about your fear?"
"No. he'll laugh at me. I have to go pack."
Merlin left. The guard went to see Arthur. He went in.
"Sire, I need to tell you something about Merlin." The guard said.
"What?" Arthur wondered.
"He's terrified of dogs. When he was little, he was attacked by a dog. He doesn't take of the dogs, he would ask me to. I felt that you should know the truth. Don't tell him that I told you."
"Thank you."
Arthur gathered the knights and they talked.
"We are going to make get over this fear once and for all." Arthur said when they were done planning. They all agreed. The next day, they went on the hunting trip. Merlin freaked out whenever he saw the dogs. They stopped for a break.
Merlin, go get the dogs some water." Arthur ordered.
"I can't. I have to go do something." Merlin lied. Before Arthur could stop him, Merlin ran away from the area. He leaned against a tree and tried to calm himself. When he had finally calmed down, he could hear Arthur say that it was time to go. Merlin went back to them. He got on his horse and they went back to hunting. Merlin made excuses every time he was asked to take care of the dogs. That night, they set up camp.
"We have to get him over this fear. It's time for plan B."
Merlin got off his horse and the dogs came up to him. Merlin freaked out and ran. The dogs chased him. Merlin tripped and fell. The dogs tackled him. Merlin panicked and tried to get away. The knights came and got the dogs back to camp. Percival and Lancelot comforted Merlin. Gwaine and Elian told Arthur what had happened. When the other three got back, they dogs jumped on Merlin and licked him. At first, Merlin started freaking out but then he started laughing. He laughed till he was breathless. The dogs started to leave him alone.
"Merlin, why are you afraid of dogs?" Lancelot asked.
"When I was little, I was attacked by a dog and it wouldn't leave me alone." Merlin explained. One of the dogs ran up to Merlin and Merlin smiled.
"Well, it looks like you got over it."
"Merlin, I'm never going to let you live this down." Arthur teased.
"If you tell anyone, then I'll tell about the time you had donkey ears, and the time you..." Merlin sighed.
"Shut up, Merlin."
