Place of the chosen children

"Man I wish I had listened to your mother when she told me to learn Japanese" sighed a young blond man, watching as the high school students passed him by many staring in interest toward him and his daughter. Zoe and her father had been waiting at the school in Shenoki for nearly two hours because the receptionist didn't know English and needed someone to translate. Just then the receptionist jumped up and greeted three people coming through the main doors. The two women spoke in Japanese then they walked over to her father with a young blond man and a boy that Zoe had met almost two years ago, following slowly.

"Hello I'm Kari Kamya" the woman said showing him a badge "this is my partner Yomato" he flashed his badge quickly "and this is Kouji" who acknowledging the introduction nodded politely.

"Oh I'm Willis Orimoto and this is my daughter Izumi" The young man introduced. "It's Zoe" she corrected "Well let's get you enrolled." said Ms. Kamya. After answering a few questions the young woman had all of Zoe's papers in English and Japanese. "You're all set here Kouji's first class is a literature class so for the sake of time I'm putting you in there."Ms. Kamya explained. The two teens nodded and went off to their class.

When they arrived, Kouji introduced Zoe to the teacher and took his seat. After her introduction to the class Zoe sat down next to a young man with a red hat and goggles she recognized as another one of her friends from two years ago.

"Hey Takuya" "hey Zo why are you here" "my dad finally agreed to move to Japan," she answered excitedly. "Wow I almost thought Kouji had returned to his old lone wolf self, the way he just stayed and watched my dad the entire time the nice police officer helped me register." She observed as Kouji joked quietly with another classmate. "Mr. Yomato?" Takuya asked seriously. "No but he was there he stood next to his partner the whole time." She answered. "Why?" "Yomato has a bad stigma over his head, bad family ties, anyway he isn't that well-liked by outsiders, he doesn't deserve it though, and Kouji was probably watching your father to see if he recognized him." The teen explained before the teacher called on him to start reading.

After school Kouji waited with Zoe on her father after half an hour she called him

"…hey dad where are you…the airport …its ok what's the address again … what you don't know! …the house to the right of the pink house in Shenoki…ok bye dad" she hung up.

"Do you know where that is?" "Yeah I'll take you there"

They were walking home and Zoe was trying to keep him talking

"So why did you become super warrior on my father this morning?"

"Your father was so uneasy I was worried what he might do, I heard you and Takuya talking earlier so he pretty much told you." Kouji explained.

"Well yes but what could bad family ties have to do with who Yomato is?"

Kouji's answer was cut off when a man stopped in front of the two

"Hello little puppy"

"Yes pup and who's your friend"

"Yes she's pretty" Kouji braced himself to protect Zoe from the six men that had surrounded them he shifted into a fighting stance letting a small growl escape.

"Freeze" quickly Kari, Yomato and another police officer rounded the men. As the last one was cuffed a car pulled by, Zoe recognized it as her parents and started toward them but Yomato grabbed her by the arm. Willis saw this and hopped out of the car enraged

"Yomato Tachininchi don't you dare touch my daughter again."

"First its Takinuchi second I didn't want her to run out in front of you" Yomato explained calmly to the man

"Yeah like I believe that from what I see you're quite the daddy's boy." Willis sneered

"Don't talk to him like that he's done nothing wrong." Kari interjected angrily.

Willis was about to respond when his wife chimed in "I don't think anything is wrong"

"This man thinks I'm stupid enough to believe he grabbed our daughter so she wouldn't get hit really Mimi"

"My brother died when I was young, he was hit by a car, and we are all a bit skittish around the roads" Ken, the new police officer explained.

"Oh …but he could be…" Willis started

"Don't say it he never has and never will and that I'm positive on" Kari input cutting him off

"Don't judge others based on what their family has done if we all did as our parents the world would be a mess!" Kouji said stepping between the two shouting adults. Willis gave up and, motioning for Zoe to follow, got back into the car.

The two blonde men avoided each other for the next week or so until things had calmed down enough for them to be civil with each other

That Saturday night Mimi was headed out. "Hey where are you going Mimi" Willis inquired

"That ceremony we do every year"

"Oh" Willis conceded

"Hey mom can I come with you?" Zoe asked her mother as she ran down the stairs

"Why? You would think it is confusing, to say the least" Her mother questioned

"Kouji asked if I would come"

"Oh ok I don't mind" Mimi said hesitantly

"Thanks mom, let me just grab my shoes." she said excitedly

After a thirty minute hike through the woods they came to a clearing where everyone was gathered around Takuya and Kouji who were calling her over. Then Takuya started his speech

"As you know there were five digidestined called for this latest threat two years ago four of which are: me, Raging Flames Takuya, Wolf of Light Kouji, Striking Thunder J.P and Frozen Tundra Tommy now we give you the fifth digidestined Zoe Rushing Winds! She is the holder of the spirits of wind" Zoe bowed embarrassedly then Kari and her husband T.K stood

"I believe it's safe to say all members are happy with the addition to our family" they stated in unison "well" Kari continued "shall the powers of courage and friendship give us their words" Kari sat as she finished and her brother Tai and Yomato took her place Tai announced

"Well as you all know our friend Great Sincerity has returned to spend her life with us"

"Yes now we only need you Our Love then we will be complete" Yomato added to a woman Zoe hadn't seen before named Sora.

"Well I would but my daughter is still too young to fly so maybe another time" The young red head answered

"That's not a valid excuse"

"Now," Tai interrupted "on this day twenty-one years ago the oldest set of digidestined defeated Apocalaman, seventeen years ago the next set defeated Malomyotismon and two years ago our children defeated Lucimon. Now we meet every year on this sacred of nights to commemorate our efforts and successes through the years. We vow to never forget the lessons we have learned and hopefully to teach them to our peers and descendants. "Tai ended proudly.

Yomato gave his friend a questioning look before giving his announcement "As Great Courage has mentioned, this is a time for us to celebrate our victories and also to just be together so without further ado let's eat." The pair bowed humbly before rushing back to get some of the food.

"Hey Zo, look what I can do." Takuya cupped his hands together and a small flame burst forth.

"Wow Taky that's cool how can you do that?"

"Ophanimon gave us back our spirits, the can manifest slight elemental control in our human forms." He explained excitedly, the flame in his hand growing.

"Hey cool it goggle head." Kari said walking over to them.

"Sorry Kari ma'am." Takuya said, extinguishing the flame and stepping back.

"Well it is quite a pleasure to have you Izumi; I even have a gift for you." Kari handed the girl a small lavender device.

"My detector" She exclaimed, taking the digivice and grabbing the woman into a warm hug

"I thought you would like it." Kari laughed,

"I've heard a bit about you from the angels," Takeru came up beside his wife, "I'd like to thank you personally for saving Seraphimon's egg." He smiled brightly to the teen

"Oh, you're welcome; it was the least we could do for one of the great angels." She said nervously

"Right, I forgot, these two are the human partners of the angels Ophanimon and Seraphimon. All of the adults around here have partners they help instead of holding the spirits like us." Takuya explained

"Oh." Izumi said intrigued. The sky suddenly got dark, drawing everyone's attention upward.

"Clouds, I hope it doesn't rain while we're here." Tommy said dejectedly

"No there's no rain in the air." Kari assured him, "But now we'll need some light so we can see each other." She smiled walking over to where the food was laid out. Mumbling something to herself she began to emit a white light. Everyone finished filling their plates and sat around the woman, all chatting and having a good time.

"Your mom is a glow worm?" Izumi asked Kouji, sitting in the circle of warriors.

"She commands the powers of light just as Ophanimon and I do." He explained, closing his eyes and giving off his own light. "I'm not as good as mama is at sustaining it though." He said as the light flickered out.

"Maybe, but his light is more intense they anything I'm able to produce myself, I'm sure soon he will be able to bypass my skill." Kari praised, coming over to the children since the clouds seemed to drift on. Everyone came over to the warriors group, greeting Izumi into the group, praising her for various things she had done in the digital world two years prior.

"Hello, I'm sorry it took me so long guys." A female voice said, drawing everyone's attention to a large group of digimon.

"Don't worry Gato; you guys are here now that's all that counts." Kari said holding her arms out for the Gatomon. The cat like digimon jumped into the woman's arms excitedly.

"Yeah lady Gatomon, it's no big deal we were all just talking." JP said respectfully and the rest of the group agreed happily.

"Wait, Patamon, I thought you digivolved back into Seraphimon?" Zoe said worriedly, "Has something happened?"

"Oh no it's nothing like that," the small digimon said flying to the young destined "The real world has a different energy structure so it is more difficult on us and our humans to hold such a high form especially if we aren't fighting." He explained. The other adults gathered around their partners hugging and chatting happily for the rest of the night.
